I'm not a fan of what I'm about to say because it's used unnecessarily at times. But Oldham is a proper northern club. Good to see them back in the league. Chuffed for 'em.

It still grates on me how little Holding went for. However i do get we sold to the best offer on the table. He's worth millions more though

The list is endless mate. We got fuck all for anyone.

Mind you we got the correct money for clough.

He's weak as piss and not that good.

And play him where?

He wouldn't fit the system, unless he plays out left like Armstrong is currently sacrificing himself to.

I personally think he'd fit there pretty well. Better than Armstrong.

For the wages etc though I'm sure we could use it better elsewhere

On occasions when Clough and ameobi played at the same time, some of their interplay was excellent and refreshing.

It was. Teams didn't know how to defend them

It was a level lower don't forget

Do we know what we actually got for him, and what the add ons are? - hopefully we'll also have a decent sell on clause as well.

At the time, we were in the 3rd division, skint and nobody else actually wanted him, so sadly we had to take what was offered. I do think that he'll end up being a decent player - he's a far, far better prospect than Clough

The money was about right, he was a decent player, but nothing more than that. If we'd kept him, we wouldn't have gone up I don't think. It was the right thing for us to sell him.....it probably wasn't right for him to be fair. Hopefully the move to Forest won't kill his career, before it's even started

We've had somewhere between £2.5m & £3m for Holding and those saying we sold too cheaply are applying hindsight to the player Arsenal have made him.

When we sold him, he had played 20-odd games in the Championship's worst defence, shipping 2 a game. ie not worth £1m never mind £2m.

Irrespective of the Holding money keeping us afloat for a while, if he stayed we don't bring Beevers in.

If he stayed, he doesn't progress the way he has.

In fact (and I'm merely speculating), he may well have weilted under the physical challenge of League 1 and our centre half pairing would have been weaker than the Wheater/Beevers one we ended up with, from which Beevers scored 8 goals or so.

Yep. Not sure he'd have shone with us this season, though with Henry bringing stability to our midfield, it might be better.

Anyway we can speculate, moan & groan all day long, but a player is only worth what another club will pay for him.

I can put my house up for sale for £1m and tell everyone it's worth £1m, but the market value (sadly far far less than £1m) is the real value of the house.

Put some posters of Wendy James up- be worth a fortune then. :)

How utterly sole less are West Ham now, dear me.

*Edit, I'll keep that spelling it was a slipper of the tongue

3 nil down with 64% possession.

Is Dougie Freedman managing Brighton these days?

Clough was on less than Wilkinson.

Clough was on less than Wilkinson.

Think Jules means wages now if we brought him back.

Noone will make that left side his own over the next few weeks/months. Some of the crosses he put in last week were first class

Correct

Looked sharp when coming on last week. Him for Armstrong IMO.

I must have got No one wrong as I wasn’t impressed

I thought he came on as a straight swap for Sammy A as we were getting overrun on the right

On more than one occasion No one was nowhere to be seen as they came down that side late on, perhaps I missed a switch around in formation and it wasn’t his role

He certainly looks more of an attacking threat than defensive anyroad, I’d still rather see Morais in though, huge threat from set pieces with him in the side

I thought noone looked good when he came on last week

Madine & Ameobi are nailed on for two of the front 3 places which leaves Armstrong, Noone & Morais ( & possibly Buckley if he's ever fit ) fighting for one place. Armstrong has done well enough to keep the position for now but it's good to have competition for places & useful subs to bring on.

Noone looks decent enough going forward but doesn’t offer that same protection defensively that you get with Ameobi or even Morais. Just pitched up in my spot at Hampden for the Hibs v Celtic game, hope to be in the pub in time for us to be 3-0 up on Soccer Saturday COYWM

What about ALF; has he left us?

What about ALF; has he left us?

may aswel

What about ALF; has he left us?

We play 1 forward man and 1 behind in vela and then 2 wingers being ameobi and another

Alf is none of them. Therefore he doesn’t play

He should get a run out in fa cup alongside Wilbraham Derik Burke dervite Darby and Robinson
