I'm not a fan of what I'm about to say because it's used unnecessarily at times. But Oldham is a proper northern club. Good to see them back in the league. Chuffed for 'em.

thats a poor do

listened to a radio 5 interview with him few months back

and drove past the school proudly bearing his name a couple of weeks later

seemed a proper decent bloke

Sorry to hear that, RIP Jimmy. Always came across a real gentleman

Jimmy was the first bolton manager I remember when I started going with my dad watching the wanderers, did a great job bringing through a lot the young players at the time. Rip Jimmy thanks for some great memories

i saw the 2 games when we were promoted

didnt he then leave after about a dozen games of the second season in division 2 to take on leeds after clough?

i remember greaves taking over and there being some wariness at having lost gentleman jim

brave guy and did a decent job in the shadow of revie

RIP Jimmy Armfield, gentleman of the game.

He left us just before I started going but definitely laid the foundations for our 70's success under Ian Greaves.

RIP JImmy.

A quick Google tells me he took Leeds to the European Cup Final in the 1974/75 season.

They got done by a dodgy ref though they may have lost anyway

The Leeds loons rioted

He was our manager when I started watching the Whites. A very good manager & a great man...I could have listened to him all day. RIP Jim, you will be sadly missed by many.

Swansea Liverpool isn't exactly a magnificent example of English football.

Hard to believe this lot beat city.

A bit of a snorefest, though happy to see Swansea in front.

Liverpool trying to condense ye olde boom n bust into 8 days as only they can

City's win at the weekend makes them safe from relegation. JSL

But Klopp’s fucken boss, lar

The gift that keeps on giving :D

WTF fuck is klopp babbling on about he makes no fucking sense he’s a loon.

Tonight I have mostly been at Bury FC watching a friend's son play for their under 18s side. He got an assist on the only goal of the game too.
Couldn't bring myself to shout "Come on Bury!" though.

Bournemouth are now the 28th richest football club in the world.

they should give coyle a job

he'll sort that quick sharp

On the news they keep saying this table is based on income. Is this correct?

A bit meaningless if it is.

Suggestions that Sanchez will earn around half a million a week. That's £26m per year.

I can't remember the exact figure but I think they said utd had an income of around £600m per year.

That means paying one employee 4.3% on your income. Madness.

U23 go to the top of the table after beating Sheffield Wednesday 2-1, goals from Connor Hall and Jeff King. Surely these two lads deserve to be a part of the first team on match days.

Let’s hope the manager thinks their good enough Hall has to get in front of Le Fondre to even get on the bench and that’s no easy task.

Morocco also want the world cup later on. Sounds a recipe for disaster.

Another mega hot tournament, with security concerns. Do a roaring trade in England rugs.
