I'm not a fan of what I'm about to say because it's used unnecessarily at times. But Oldham is a proper northern club. Good to see them back in the league. Chuffed for 'em.

Abso-fucking-lutely. If this had been 1969 he'd have popped up behind Neil Armstrong and got photographed by the flag. Cunt.

Great memories of him playing at Burnden.

Who can tell me which team did Rodrigo scored his only Bolton goal against??

Yes,I'm that sad I've just looked it up.

What percentage of teams do not use a sub in a cup final. Probably one for malc.

As a general rule I investigate things which interest me, or where I doub't someone's assertion.

But then I can't leave Jazza in suspense.

I suspect that the answer is that subs are used less in matches which might go into extra time than in 90 minute games.

The sense for this is that injuries are significantly more likely in extended games, and thus some substitutes should be held back until extra time. In particular, using all subs in a 120 minute game increases the risk of finishing a match without a recognised goalkeeper, so that should not generally happen, especially as the prospect of a drawn match, and thus a penalty shoot-out to resolve the tie, increases.

As Benfica went a goal down, the opportunity to change the game made one or two substitutions a reasonable decistion, but to face the possibility of 42 minutes plus 3 sets of added time without the ability to replace can only be justified by injuries.

Benitez was left with the option of making changes at full time or any point within extra time, either to replace tiring players or simply to rearrange in some way to pressure the opposition. He was in much the stronger position, but the goal came before full time anyway.

How many pints did Jazza sink whilst waiting?

This Madrid final is looking tasty. I wonder if them Madrid policemen are up for a kick off? Probably look after their own

My friends went to Madrid for a weekend trip, they've just posted a photo from their hotel window of a car on fire and riot police everywhere. This shit doesn't get reported.

Pathetic game that was, ESP atletico the cheating diving cunts

Puygrenier just scored for Nancy

Uwe Rosler must've had a double paper round and a sunday supplement one too since he played for City.
