He was booed onto the pitch for Cardiff in their game against us before Christmas. For what! Being one of, at best, a handful of players who always gave 100% in our relegation season?

shocking that, didn't hear it myself.

definitely one of our better players that season

It was shocking, it amazes me 1000s of English go up there to watch that. I get the loyalty to the crown but an 8 hour plus trip to watch that shite is mental.

As we all know, football is just something which disturbs a good few hours drinking for about an hour and three quarters.

Beltin' craic up there - especially if you know the right people and where to go.

Had some superb days out where the football was diabolical.

I see tomorrow there are championship fixtures

Standing out brum v Sunderland and burton v reading

Tomorrow's matches are re-arranged from Saturday because of cup matches. Only our match at Cardiff will not take place for a fortnight.

Think you have family ties up there who are Rangers so completely understand that but to have no ties with a town or city and support that team is something beyond my comprehension.

Aye mate, you are correct. All to do with my uncle joining the Black Watch before I was even born.

I can clearly remember being admonished during the 1967 European Cup Final for 'wanting the British club to win'. "There's nae fucking British club playing here tonight son". You don't forget lessons like that  :D

Nathan Blake doing an interview on bbc

Now he was a top player sometimes didn’t look interested but he could finish

It isn't how I remember him. The thing that sticks in my head was that if Nathan Blake found himself in a one-on-one with the opposition keeper then he'd miss more than he'd score.

He wasn't the greatest finisher but he was brilliant at holding the ball up & giving defenders nightmares. As I've said before I'd bet SJM rates him as his best playing partner.

his goal return doesn’t suggest that.

Ok at times he looked lazy but he knew where the net was, even in that first season in the premier league scored 12

I loved Blake he was a danger man. And I got a quick feel of his sweaty head after he jumped up to the barriers of ESL celebrating a goal against Huddersfield (IIRC). I haven’t washed my hand since.
