Take anything Ronnie says with a pinch of salt. He played Selby-style tactics a few times yesterday, when he could have gone on the attack. Was back to normal service this afternoon mind. He'll be lifting the trophy in half an hour, no sweat. (Although I hope I'm wrong).

Don't forget - he's threatened to retire every 2 years for the last decade at least. Wouldn't be surprised if he declares it again after this final. Don't believe a word he says. He's a mad genius.

I put a tenner on Hendry at 12/1 before the tournament started, no idea if he still plays well but couldn't resist at them odds.

I remember him on a football quiz show with Alan Stubbs and Jason McAteer as our representatives. 

Think we were against Tranmere and Elton Welsby was the host.

He's the clear favourite, but the standard is piss poor. I reckon I'd stand half a chance against a few of the Seniors, and I'm shite.

He did reach number three in the world mid 80's but fell away after that.

Yes the 10-1 was in 1982 and Davis was shocking in that match. I'm not sure if Knowles made any breaks above 50 but it was good enough. 

Didn't he have that snooker club in Horwich?
