Right - forgetting the bent bidding process and the conditions of the migrant workers building the stadiums - does anybody else agree that a Nov/Dec competition has the potential to be ace?

 

Firstly because it will take up most of the traditional Christmas bullshit season so we'll all be talking about football and not festivities. Secondly just for the novelty factor. And thirdly because we can see whether or not our well worn excuse about our players being tired stands up to scrutiny.

Not sure I'd want Pep for the knockout games anyway.  His record in the CL in the past few seasons has him down as a bottler.

It is funny though how before the WC people were saying with GS in charge we would struggle to get out of the group.

When we got knocked in quarters we only beat teams we were expected to.

Yes L/H White, the money is (was) on the three of them. Argentina and Brazil to make profit, France to break even (the silly TAB here in WA gave me $12.63 for France to win it! Everyone else had them around the 7.00 to 8.00 mark!).

Obviously need the Argies to win it to make money but would be happy with the two in the final with a win or break even scenario.

I'll be doing Brazil and Argentina again in 2026 - just a question of who the other will be.

It is never difficult to predict that England will go out at a WC quarter final.

I never said they’d struggle to get out of the group, struggle in group games, we struggled against USA, wales and Iran were terrible so even we couldn’t struggle against them. Didn’t you say it was coming home? 🤣
