Lull the opposition. They said similar about injuries before the England game.

The injuries they were talking about then are the players they've not had throughout the whole tournament. They are genuine injuries, and we knew they weren't available.

So no smoke screen whatsoever.

No reason to disbelieve the virus story.

If I was the Argies I’d be taking it with a pinch of salt.

I think around about now is where the journalists will revert back from saying what an incredible world cup it's been while they've been enjoying 5 star hotels for a month, to yes the football was good but it was weird/corrupt/artifical etc and bring on the return of "real" football.

A matter of opinion. Obsequiousness to the FA must count for a lot.

Hope he's gone before 2026.

I agree decision making during games is poor , the bigger the game the worse his management decisions.

Unfortunately he is the manifestation of the  FA ‘s political image.

Don't see a winner in Southgate , hope I’m wrong.

It appears Southgate has condescended to stay as England manager. Another two years of kneeling in honour of a bank robbing, kidnapping, gun toting, drug dealer then.

Oh well.

I've no problem with him staying, but the fact that he thought for a while about stopping concerns me a touch.

I hope he gets all the drive he had beforehand back, because if not then he would be better stepping down.

No politics in football, remember?

Apart from Glaswegian cowshit about leprechauns and poppies.
