Oh I know. And never sarcastic, don't know how he manages it. Nice bloke though.

He's alreet, a proper Wanderer so must be at least 50% good. ???? But he's wrong 50% of the time as well.????

Ok they haven't achieved much though have they? Gartside was described by Dougie as being the most 'hands off' chairman he'd known i.e. never there. Still trousered £400k a year for long enough though.

You really believe a deal was close? Only close until whoever had a look at the books perhaps. Lennon was allowed to take on those contracts because the club is a shambles with no plan. We may never know for sure but let's go off what has actually happened rather that what we want to happen.

We've been through this time and again.

PG was a 'hands off' chairman because his main task at that time was to find a suitable buyer for the club.

As has been pointed out two of the world's biggest spending clubs are on the doorstep, so a third force would find it difficult to arise, and no billionaire could be tempted.

And thanks to the abuse directed on antisocial media no local millionaire is likely to follow ED - something not foreseeable 15 years ago.

ED has been using some of his money on at least two non-football projects for some time. The fact that a suitable replacement had not been found brought matters to a head. It remains to be seen whether their is a credible buyer, or indeed any buyer, or whether BWFC really is on the edge of the abyss.

Spending his cash elsewhere while not paying staff who work for his company. Piss poor, sooner he's gone the better. Edited by Mounts Kipper

He's heavily involved with Manchester art gallery isn't he? Gave them a massive donation last year iirc.

Didnt one of his mrs horses win a medal at the last Olympics??

He's got money we know that yet he's choosing not to pay his staff, that type of behavior could lead folk thinking he's a crook yet some still defend the man. Edited by Mounts Kipper

Malc, not arsed anymore. We are where we are. We were never going to attract a multi millionaire, we are not fashionable enough and never likely to make money. Abuse has stopped a local millionaire coming forward? Not the prospect of losing money hand over fist? Pull the other one and if Gartside made this fools errand more important than the day to day running of the club no wonder we are in this state.

Been away for a while but after going to Eastleigh today and watching the bunch of talentless tossers we now have I have to ask why after all the promises we have have had over the last 10'yrs about our young players saving us we have to rush and sell off our assests. ED should be hanging his head in shame. I recall when we sold the likes of tony Henry and Steve Thompson to keep the club afloat it took us years to recover. What the fuck have Gartside and co been up to ?

Praying for a lunatic with more money than sense apparently. It was expected that they would be queuing up to replace Eddie and no one could have foreseen that this may not happen. (Despite us fans being told ED was a one off on many occasions)

Surely our young players are "saving" us.

The money from the Clough sale may save the club from extinction.

There you have it; common sense.

Why did the club give Clough a new contract? To improve the chances of a transfer fee. Amos? Similar aim, I'd guess.

Taken a while for good decision-making, mind!

Still hurts though doesn't it. Seeing Clough play against us is going to be a sad day - club saviour or not club saviour.

Aye, it will.

A West Brom fan described watching Bob Taylor play against them as being like watching your wife being shagged by another man.

Oh you are educating folk are you? Ha Ha, you don't know anymore than anyone else and neither does the other bloke away from parroting statistics. That's why it's all kicking off, no one knows how bad it is , finance wise ,apart from really bad.

Now Zach Clough has gone (out of necessity I know) it is going to get very nasty at the match. And there is no one around to take the frustration and abuse, apart from the manager and players on the pitch.Just when you thought it couldn't get any worse.

Just when you thought it couldn't get any worse.

This is just the tip of the iceberg.

We are in for one hell of a journey. This is child's play compared to what's coming.

Fuck me, I'm gutted about losing Cloughy so early in his career, too, but the lad's only played 20 games. I know he's been a rare positive in the last 12 months (when he's been fit) but we need a bit of perspective, surely.

Thing is with Clough - with all this shit we've been going through - there was a small albeit irrational portion of my brain which thought we might (even in League One) be able to rebuild around the kids with Zach Clough and Josh Vela leading the charge. Now that one candle in the darkness is about to be extinguished. It never rains but it pours. Batten down the hatches lads - I've got a feeling this is going to get extremely uncomfortable!
