Why doesn't Eddie Davies issue some sort of statement saying what his intentions are and how he feels about his legacy being a once proud club reduced to this? Quote

They did fuck all about it and had two years notice so lets's have it reet, How do you know they've done fuck all? Hasn't Gartside spent god knows how long trying to find a buyer? Isn't that common knowledge? Some folk seem to think assorted Sheikhs, Oligarchs and U.S Tycoons would be banging the door down to buy us, clearly that is not the case. Why was Lennon allowed to take on all those contracts in the summer? Perhaps a deal was close but fell through? We may never know. There have been definite failings in financial governance but we don't know the full picture and we probably never will. Quote

Gartside was described by Dougie as being the most 'hands off' chairman he'd known i.e. never there. Still trousered £400k a year for long enough though. You really believe a deal was close? Only close until whoever had a look at the books perhaps. Lennon was allowed to take on those contracts because the club is a shambles with no plan. We may never know for sure but let's go off what has actually happened rather that what we want to happen. Quote
