Yes, fuck it.

Let's not attempt to clear this tax bill.

Let HMRC wind us up.

Let's go bump.

Let all our better players leave for nothing

Clearing the imminent danger and deferring a decision about administration buys more time for a buyer to be found, but let's not bother.

Lock the fucking doors.

Stop with your common sense!

Stop with your common sense!

Sorry, I really should know better.

Booooooooooo! Sack the board.

We wouldn't be in this mess had Eddie & Phil not embezzled twelvety gazillion pounds from the club.

Booooooooooo! Lennon out!

etc etc etc

Any better?

Yeah, that's about right. Fit in just perfectly on Facebook and Twitter. Twitter especially.

It's fine to say that, but we really have no idea what has happened, so a little unfair. We hear about ill health, and that would change anyone's priorities. Time for a little extra understanding, in my view. Whatever the negative outcome, I'm sure he'll have done his best.

I appreciate PG is seriously ill and I wish him and his family the best, I hope he pulls through I genuinely do. However the board should not be immune from criticism because one member is ill. This debacle goes back years.

If he isn't gonna sign get him down here today. If not dock his pay :D

You sound like that window licker Gazza Crompton off Twitter.

You know for a fact, ED has ploughed £150 million in? He has lost £150 million in BWFC. Bollocks. Starting to believe it's time to leave you lot who won't hear a word said against the board, wish you well and leave you to it. I appreciate that we are where we are, moaning doesn't help you're right but if you feel you've been fucked over its hard to just accept it. The board have known for two years ED wanted out and have done nothing. That's a disgrace especially as they will be walking away from all this with their wedge you can be sure (not talking about ED but the other board members), multi-millionaires already as I have been reminded. What have they done to stop us going over the cliff. They have killed the club and yet you get battered on here for being angry about it.

The way I see it things have only got out of hand after relegation

As we now have confirmed the paper £180m debt is just fabricated numbers on a sheet and means fuck all

The problems now our the outgoings (wages) are bigger than income

I'd bet every current player contract was made after relegation. Which begs the question what on earth were the board thinking signing them (hindsight)

This is the one I'm wrestling with, it's obvious we gambled but why??

Then I think back and remember every season in the championship so far has started with our worst run in 100 years, meaning the club were probably gambling just to keep us in the championship one year with a hopeful promotion push the next.

This logic has turned out to be shite, we'd have been better just going with what we had and potentially dropping twice like wolves & Wigan but giving ourselves a better chance of bouncing back

But then I think that maybe PG knew all along that the reebok, euxton and lostock costs can't be covered in league 1 long term and the thought of doing a sheff Utd even with parachute money for 1 or 2 seasons would have meant certain financial doom

It's all a car crash granted, lots of bad luck and lots and of bad judgment by many (in hindsight)

I'm still not having it that anything sinister or illegal has gone on though

SKD had it right yesterday on talk sport - nothing to be gained from finger pointing or looking at what happened 4/5/6 years a go. If we are to move on from this we need to focus on the now and future

It turns out we're actually on the same page.

I'll defend ED because I genuinely believe that he has ploughed a lot of money into us (from what I can tell from the accounts it's c.£150m cash in total) and I think he has always had the clubs best interests at heart, i.e. he continued to throw money at us for the 1st 2 years after we came down.

However what I don't know, and this is why I don't reliably know where to throw the blame for this mess is how much involvement he had in the day to day running of the club.

Whoever controls the finances and makes the budgets and big decisions deserve the blame for this, if it's true that ED said 2 years ago that he wants out in 2 years then they should have been planning for this since then. Personally I think that we should have cut our cloth the moment we got relegated, people keep chucking the parachute money in there but even with the parachute money it's still something like a £50m decrease in revenue in the space of one year, not many businesses can survive that, especially when you don't take immediate action to try and cut your expenditure at the same rate. We gambled on going back up in 2 years and failed.

Anyway without going into the ins and outs of what we should and shouldn't have done money wise, I agree that the board deserve the shit, the chairman and FD deserve a lot of shit, maybe ED does deserve some shit if he was involved day to day and didn't communicate properly that this day was coming.

Whoevers job it was to sit there and make a plan after relegation, try and budget for the massive decrease in income, and make as many decisions to make sure we could cope has failed. In fact, whoever sat there at the start of this financial year in July, forecasted his cash flow for the year, saw that we run out of cash in October and then continued to sign players is a cunt, we should have been going through this process then.

I've rambled, but it should be possible to be pissed off with the day to day decision makers without wanting ED on a 'board of shame'.

But it was Ed who continued to employ the gormless Gartside he is the owner if he couldnt see this coming then he isnt the business man he thinks he is

Football is all about gambling. You can get lucky with players, injuries, managerial appointments and more. We got unlucky, in some cases very unlucky. It doesn't support what the club's owners and board have done, but a lot of clubs have gambled and got away. With it. We haven't and we are now getting battered for it.

Might have been worse I've Big Sam got the cheque book he wanted. Or not. Who knows?

I am quite happy that ZC is reluctant to leave, it might be because it is 'only' Bristol City, but it shows he has some loyalty and pride to the club.

Fair play to the lad.

Doubt we will ever know but wonder what wages some of the lads we sell go onto, if we are paying over the top then how will they match it elsewhere ? Maybe that explains the low fee for Mavies ?

It turns out we're actually on the same page.

The blame lies on Eddie Davies shoulders he can't hide behind the fact he employed PG to run the club ultimately ED will have been involved in all major decisions. I don't know how much ED has lost but it ain't 185 million and he won't know how much he's lost until he's got rid of the club. I backed Eddie Davies throughout his ownership of the club I wrongly believed he was clever enough to have in place the exit plan and leave the club with a golden legacy, when it became apparent he hadn't a clue what to do other than sell off the assets to protect his own position he lost my support, trust and respect. Not that he'll care about that just like he seems not to care about the outcome of his owbership of the football club as. It's looking like he's going to leave us in a worst state than when he arrived.

Bolton. Bristol City. Zach Clough bid is over 2 rising to 3. He can speak if he wants. Bolton need sale in next few days. Badly.

Hope he tells the club he's not going. I want this situation to come to a head. The sale of ZC will only kick the can further down the road let's have the boil lanced now so we can see the road our illustrious leaders chose to take. I hope there is fear in their eyes.

Edited by Mounts Kipper

if ZC says no, will that stop any other potential clubs coming in for him?

I'm bemused by this mythical 'show us the money' story. It sounds like someone Korean was expected to roll up with several briefcases full of cash before the end of the working day. That just sounds bonkers. I don't dispute that someone is sniffing around, but it's all a little simplistic.

It is no different from proving you have the funds when placing a bid on a house.

Agreed

Any new owner would want to keep him

Let's see this boil lanced

They have killed the club and yet you get battered on here for being angry about it.

No you don't - you get battered on here for being a boring and predictable.

What a load of bollocks that the Koreans didn't turn up with the cash Friday ffs! ED is pissing me right off sell the fucking club or put us in administration now! As per normal who gives a shit about the fans.

Bit of pressure for ZC. Stay where you're happy and try to help us out of a slump but also know that your transfer fee can keep the wolves from the door a bit longer and potentially keep the club you love going a little longer.

If zach Clough doesn't get sold in the next few days it would be like Half the Embankment not getting sold back in the 80's.

This deal could save the club. £3 million could buy us enough time to lower the wage bill further and sell a bit more stuff make ends meet.

We either sell him and save the club for a bit or don't and he walks away for free when the shit hits the fans.

It's like buying a house with a conservatory and then when you move in they've taken it with them

We've agreed to sell him though

It's out of our hands

Up to the boy now and it appears he doesn't fancy Bristol City

That's his decision and I don't blame him for wanting to go to move to another team that might be league 1 next season

The only bit I'm struggling with is that people can't see the above is right.

I don't think he will go to Bristol, but I do think others will come in for him and he will go to one of those.
