If we'd not agreed a deal there'd be moans about letting our best players go for free....sometimes club cannot win.

 

Risky signing Pratley at his age for 3 years in my view though. Mind everything is risky when you've got little to play with.

We need 2 full backs, a replacement for Mills, a defensive midfield player, another striker probably 2 if Eidur goes, a good quality winger and a back up goalkeeper.

 

For me that's the minimum to have a shot at top half next season. That's a lot to do.

More than happy with Amos, not huge difference between him and Bogdan

 

If Pratley picks up where he left off before he got injured then it's great business

 

Don't know much about Madine, but i'll judge him on how he performs for us.

We've got Medo, Spearing and Baptiste back in training, we've replaced our keeper with a younger one, we've replaced a sick-note striker with someone that has had an injury free career and we've got rid of a load of high-earning bang average players and we've extended the contract of a player that had his best spell under Lennon? I personally think we have a better squad than last year.

NL knew who was going at the end of last season and i'm sure that if he needed 10 - 11 players he would've said so i really don't think he's that stupid but that's only my opinion he might be as numb as a piss stone

How is it considerably weaker??

 

Considering we have a gazillion players coming back from injury suggests that we will be going into the season with a stronger sqaud already.

 

Pratley was on course for player of the season before his injury. Keeping him is a coup IMO.

 

Amos is more than an adiquet replacement for Bogdan.

 

Gary Madine is more than an adiquet replacement for cavies too.

and we've got Holden to come back don't forget...

We need a RB, a CB, 1 striker and then one of a Winger or a Defensive Mid we don't need both because we can't fit all that in one team.

 

Now take Baptiste/Kuipers as your CB, Palacios as your DM you're really only looking for 2 players. A backup keeper would be nice but isn't necessary.

Medo and Spearing? Players Lennon shifted out last season and by all reports he wants shut of again. Well that's filled me with confidence.

 

Baptiste is possible because Lennon hasn't worked with him. But no way do Medo and Spearing count as anything other than wage hoggers at this stage.

 

We don't have a better squad than last seasons we've lost in my view our best centre back. We don't have a proper centre back in the squad now. We have no right back. Moxey as our only genuine left back. No midfield monster to dominate games, something we missed visibly all last season. No regular goalscorer up front. Having Clough and Clayton back is great but to put expectation on young shoulders coming back from injury is incredibly dangerous.

 

Sorry I don't see us being better. I see us getting worse. We are just so short in key areas. Where is the physicality we missed last season coming from? Where will the solid back four arise from? Where are the goals?
