October 20, 201510 yr My point was that we only know what PG's wages were some time a go as the accounts are historic, for all we know he may currently be on a lot less. I would expect so based on the reduction in overall turnover but we won't know until the accounts for this season are published. His main aim At the moment is to find new investment, that's a very difficult task that will likely take time. It's not something you can measure looking at a league table either so again I do t see how we can call him with no knowledge of the facts. For all we know he may have got close to 1 or 2 really good deals - we don't know for sure do we. ED hasn't sacked him yet so he must be doing something right behind the scenes. My dig at the ALF crowd funding is in defence of ED.,many people want 1 fan (ED) to risk millions when the other 20,000-30,000 of us are only willing to put £1,000 in - it's hypocritical at best Its got nothing to do with willing, unfortunately I am only in a position to put that much in due to family commitments, if i was a very rich man believe me I would be WILLING to put in a lot more Edited October 20, 201510 yr by plodwhite
October 20, 201510 yr Just a thought, why is DF considered a poor appointment yet Lennon is a good appointment even though they have similar records? At what point will people begin to blame Lennon and not PG or the players? I'm not calling for his head, I'm always happy to give managers time and I'm proud of how our club tends to but our fans who normally hound out players/managers/chairman see NL untouchable so I'd just like to know what's different with him? Anyway I am prepared to be proven wrong IF it turns out he has and if he manages to find a buyer if that is his main aim. That's it not mentioning his name again, all about the team & manager trying to stay up with what we've got now.
October 20, 201510 yr Just a thought, why is DF considered a poor appointment yet Lennon is a good appointment even though they have similar records? Which is a fair point. Although I'd argue DF inherited a better squad and had more money to spend. Still reckon we were right to give DF time and feel the same way about NL.

October 20, 201510 yr DF got two seasons before I noticed any serious stick at the match. There was the usual tittle tattle on here but the tide only shifted fully towards the end IMO. I'm not sure Lennon could survive a reading away. Reckon he'd probably walk if we had one of them.

Lennon hasn't had that. Not hounding him out by any means, I doubt we could get anyone better, but just interesting how people have their favourites. I suppose it's the same as Feeney getting stick despite being our most productive player. Edited October 20, 201510 yr by EyesRight

Coyle was possibly the worst ever Bolton manager & certainly the most damaging, but was given a very easy ride because his predecessor Megson had been hounded out. It works on an alternate basis.

October 21, 201510 yr He had that surge towards the play offs though which bought him a lot of time IMO. Lennon hasn't had that. Not hounding him out by any means, I doubt we could get anyone better, but just interesting how people have their favourites. I suppose it's the same as Feeney getting stick despite being our most productive player. NL had the luxury of being the next one after DF followed by a great run of results and performances culminating with the Liverpool game He got everyone's enthusiasm on and off the pitch back But that will wear off soon, though I don't think people will turn on him in quite the same way, probably because of afore mentioned stirring of passion DFs football was painful but it "still" took a year and our worst start ever before the pitchforks started to sharpen Which is where we are with NL and I think the tide is slowly turning Same old shit, different day, different culprit
October 21, 201510 yr Lennon is on a negative budget. I'd hazard a guess that he's the first manager in a long long time who is in the black in terms of transfer fees (I don't recall him spending any money so far and we got some in for Ream and Chungy).
October 21, 201510 yr Think you might have got the wrong end of the stick slightly Chief W. I went home last night(staying over for Preston away was what I was on about). I left home just before 7am yesterday and I was meant to get back to Reading for 11pm too catch the last bus but thanks to Cross Country trains I got back to Reading at 2am and had to pay £20 for a cab. So hence the rant, I have had enough of paying stupid money, travelling 100s of miles to watch a crap football team managed by an incompetent twat. Turned your back on Bolton already? Rotherham away on Tuesday night watching reading? Super fan.
October 21, 201510 yr Nope I just don't bother going to Bolton home games because I can't be arsed doing home games. I'll continue watching all of the Bolton aways and occasionally Reading.
October 21, 201510 yr On another note Gonzo several of the people in that pic that I presume your referring too are my best mates from secondary school, people I've been good friends with for over10 years so actually if when Bolton are at home I fancy the occasional dayout on the p*ss with them then I will. I'll still be Preston, Ipswich, Reading(away), Hull, Charlton.. get the point? I find it laughable that yourself and one of the London Whites is giving me grief about this. You know who I support you know how much I put into this club, you know it's my life and you know however poorly the club is doing I'm not going to stop going. I'm not going to let your snide comments deter me from continue to watch every Bolton away game. I think missing home games is more than justifiable given where I live, the cost and the fact there is nobody down here that goes to home games regularly, infact I don't know of anyone down here that does the number of aways I do. I'm not claiming to be some super fan, simply I Love going to Bolton awaydays and will do literally anything to continue going in the form I have.
October 21, 201510 yr Oh he's off again. It's Big Ruth in an Aquascutum hat. Boltons number 1 away fan that was all for giving it all up 6 posts ago. Do you get your piss flaps in a twist like this on readingways?

Well put Dan - don't let a vile meathead thug, whose voice hasn't even broken and who reeks of crime put you off doing what you enjoy - he's only jealous and wished he'd been having as much fun as you are at such a young age.
