January 23, 20179 yr Right so that's the route we should be going down, not this self serving cabal that it looks like we've got at the moment If you're a season ticket holder you automatically become a member. Anybody else who'd like a say can spunk up their tenner or whatever if they feel so inclined. Club has all contact details, anything that needs a vote/ballot should be a piece of piss to organise. Season ticket holders can then engage or not depending on whether they can be arsed. It's free to join the ST join, engage and get your points heard that you don't agree with the current way the ST are going about things and the only way to be heard is by doing just that. If correct that there are 6000 members and these members have been consulted then the ST have the mandate to act as directed by the members.
January 23, 20179 yr "we now have 2,600 shareholder members and a further 4,000 affiliate members." Are the affiliates all the Goldline people they signed up? Either way, there's 2600 real members.

Why would I join an organisation that I do not like how it is being run ? Do not agree with its approach ? And seemingly nothing in touch with my views ? They have alienated me, not the other way round, I was very much in the camp 'give em time and see'.

They have alienated me, not the other way round, I was very much in the camp 'give em time and see'. You've alienated yourself and so have many others on here who share the same opinion as you if you don't get involved and don't get your voice heard then when the trust consult with fans they can't relay your message to the club. No organisation which has 6000 members can all agree on everything but part of your message would resonate if you engaged. So it's no suprise when posters on here say the trust don't speak for me well how the fuck can they when you've not spoken to them. Edited January 24, 20179 yr by Mounts Kipper
January 24, 20179 yr I'm neither here or there with it all as it stands One thing is for sure though, we came close to going to the wall and could well do again. IF that happens then we will need a ST, It's got to be better to have one in place, ready to go than have to start from scratch I think we're in danger of being labelled moaning bastards on here, as has been said it's most likely the biggest Bolton forum yet we haven't really got anyone on here who has anything to do with the ST which is strange given the numbers A Bolton Wanderers Supporters Trust belongs to all the fans, not the few who currently sit at the top. If we aren't happy with the way it's being run then we should put 2 or 3 others forward who could do a better job and use WW to get behind them and get them in place. Granted I'm not sure who would want it off here but it's not a great deal of work as things stand, nothing to do unless KA fails to turn things around (fingers crossed he can and the ST isn't required) I just think it's a bit hypocritical for us all to have a moan about them without trying to get involved and shape what the ST is doing. Which should be all about waiting quietly in the wings should it all go South
January 24, 20179 yr Haw Sweaty Ken done owt wrong yet? Not yet, may be part of that is due to the ST remit to scrutinise ownership exactly what the ST are doing folk on here seem to have an issue with that when they really shouldn't. If KA drops the ball and no one picks it up the trust are already in a postion to take the club over and ensure it continue to exist. Edited January 24, 20179 yr by Mounts Kipper
January 24, 20179 yr the trust are already in a postion to take the club over and ensure it continue to exist. Do they have the finances to do this? - as far as I was aware, we're still haemorrhaging the best part of £800K per month, could the ST fund these continuing losses?
January 24, 20179 yr I repeat, 6000 members = 2600 actual members and 4000 affilliates (whatever that Means). Their site has no option to join as an affiliate.
January 24, 20179 yr Do they have the finances to do this? - as far as I was aware, we're still haemorrhaging the best part of £800K per month, could the ST fund these continuing losses? Do they bollocks. Won't stop them ballooning though, If we end up being run by a ST (any ST) we are right royally fucked and will be bouncing around the lower leagues for ever. And I highly doubt that the ST are responsible for keeping Anderson's eye on the ball. Edited January 24, 20179 yr by mickbrown

So it's no suprise when posters on here say the trust don't speak for me well how the fuck can they when you've not spoken to them. Yep. Irrespective of membership numbers, they've gone down the legal route to set themselves up as a supporters trust. Everyone has had the chance, and still does, to go down and offer their opinion. Other groups like ww etc are discussion forums etc but don't have the same status. Dunno if you can have more than one trust- for those very unhappy with the current one, but that would seem daft; just get down and change the current culture. Birch- your couple of guys from ww could only get on the board by being elected by members; therefore you're going to need a lot from here to join- not sure that's going to happen.
January 24, 20179 yr Do they have the finances to do this? - as far as I was aware, we're still haemorrhaging the best part of £800K per month, could the ST fund these continuing losses? I believe the trust want investors who put in £1million to have the same number of shares a someone who puts in £10.
January 24, 20179 yr My take on the numbers? 2600 who tipped up the £10 (or more), the other 4000 being those who expressed an interest but didn't tip up for whatever reason... Unless they clarify the membership those in the potential 4000 who have no further interest in the trust (or have no interest at present) can't really resign their 'affiliate' membership. It's a bit disingenuous if this is the case, if they won't clarify the membership then it's more than a bit [disingenuous] Edited January 25, 20179 yr by Youri McAnespie
January 24, 20179 yr It's been that long since I swung a club I'm not sure I can be put in that category these days. Nonthess your willing to make an exception is gratefully received. May your whoopsy aisle hunting prove fruitful And the ST can fuck the fuck off Funny you mention that, not been scratting around for Whoopsies for ages but called in last night and hit paydirt - loads of fresh tuna steaks, wild salmon portions and whole bright eyed sea bream, olives and chorizo and tubs of pesto and pine nut topped hummus - quite a result. It's always the bourgeois foodstuffs going for a song at Burnden, all the locals prefer twizzlers, curly chips and the like...
January 24, 20179 yr I believe the trust want investors who put in £1million to have the same number of shares a someone who puts in £10.That's not true. I was one who really wanted this to work and was throughly impressed at the original meeting. What has happened since has been a bit poo. The same heads who didn't want to be the chair group weirdly all got in. (If no one else went for it, then that's fine) just seems odd. What's happened to building a bid? I'm constantly hearing gripes about the current regime but that's all I'm hearing. While I'd like the stadium protected, does a group of people with no financial interest in it deserve to be calling that out. I'm not sure they do. Fwiw I think Ken and co know keeping the ground is fundamental to conclude whatever plans they have so I don't see that as an issue. I consider myself an average fan of the club and sadly I feel the ST don't CURRENTLY represent Mr in the slightest. Edited January 24, 20179 yr by tomski

January 24, 20179 yr my source implies otherwise and its the reason why many of the original folk walked awayWell I can only go off the model that was presented by the pompey fellas and that's not how it worked. Edit. It appears big E may have been correct Edited January 24, 20179 yr by tomski
January 24, 20179 yr One of my problems with the trust is it all seems a bit.....businessy.Look at them, read their bio's. Do they really represent the younger fan...?I know it may seem a bit of a silly reason but I dont want that from the ST.They are supposed to be doing stuff for the fans, as fans. I just dont see it.I also think they are in it for themselves and to rub shoulders with the big boys to generate a feeling of importance. Its not for me.As for the steering group becoming chairs. It just didnt seem open for the normal Joe to apply. They made it seem very Elitest. Edited January 24, 20179 yr by SimonT
January 24, 20179 yr With the best will in the world you'd not want any tom, dick, or harry to get a role. Preferably someone with the necessary acumen to undertake the role. If no others came forward and the steering group members got in then fair enough. They need to be businessy if they are to ever get their hands on the club.

January 24, 20179 yr yet the trust arent happy with KA who has those characteristics yet love DH who has none He's done a lot right but the ongoing situation with him and dh, the accounts etc are still giving cause for concern. For many his past indiscretions have led to an air of caution which is understandable. So long as he succeeds in getting the club on a stable footing I don't think there'll be too much of a problem.
January 24, 20179 yr yet the trust arent happy with KA who has those characteristics yet love DH who has none This is where you are completely misguided the trust have asked the EFL to clarify where the club is in relation to financials, embargo etc on your mind that = unhappy with KA It means nothing of the sort your putting 2+2 together and coming up with 5.

Wouldn't it have been easy to ask Anderson to clarify? Given he's the bleeding owner. The very fact they didn't suggest they've got some sort of beef with him.

The very fact they didn't suggest they've got some sort of beef with him. if I was in the ST board I'd ask the EFL exactly what the ST asked them, it's just due diligence and not a personal slur to KA as many people seem to think. If you were there when Pompey ST came to the original ST meeting they said that they were told basically a pack of lies by the owner of Pompey in the end the owner ended up in jail in Lithuania. Therefore I'm 100% behind the ST and them asking for clarification from the EFL it makes complete sense. Edited January 24, 20179 yr by Mounts Kipper
