The only other times i went was with the same mate but we went on our bikes to a lake behind a mill and i think it was at the far end of Settle street, this was probably during the long hot summer of 76. There was a chippy nearby at the end of a street and you could hear the radio blasting out from the mill so it must still have had workers on there. My guess was Swan Mill but it was too built up round there to have had a lake, bet its not still there, any ideas?? Probably Bradford Reservoir. Along Bradford Road, not too far from Settle Street. As for the locks, I also reckon they would be cheaper to get up and running than the breach. Just the rest of it all that makes barge use very unlikely.

July 12, 20251 yr See that sign on the pricing for the cinema?? Wasn't that a bit of a saying at one time? The 3&9s. Did it have some sort of status??

July 13, 20251 yr Never eaten tripe but I've seen it and it didn't look appetising, not even seen it for years but as a kid i do remember cow heal, i used to think it was just a word " coweel" and i seem to remember it made amazing gravy.

Yep. My grandad would noisily suck the bones. Seeing one before it's cooked would put you right off mind. A big fuck off lump of gristle with bones in it.
July 14, 20251 yr Gristle? Wash your mouth out! 🤣 Got some from Bury Market a while back already de-boned and use it, cooked long and slow, with a good quality beef for steak pie. Awesome.
