I’m going soft but seeing Trump in those situations he does come across much more positive.  Date-I-say slightly affable, even with a bit of a sense of humour. I could respect him infinitely more if that was his true self or if he at least consciously chose those behaviours, as opposed being a complete tosser 99% of the time.

Anyways, if he can bend in the wind to bring peace to Ukraine which satisfies the Ukrainians, avoids slapping tariffs on us, and gets a trade deal done then I promise not to slag him off quite as much.

The watching world one again can see Trump for what he his - despicable.

As much as Starmer appeared to have done quite well yesterday, does anyone really trust Trump to stick to any agreement, or even to agree one of any note in the first place?

Unless there are sensible people in the background, sorting things, then there seems little point in enthusing over simple platitudes. 

Of course, as he said in the meeting, he does what is right for Americans, and that seems reasonable, but he could find himself out on a limb if other leaders just decide to fuck it all off.

And I can see an eventuality where he hasn't got the skill to reach a peace deal, pulls out and blames in all on Zelensky. 

I fact - that might be what today was all about.

I think his ego will be satisfied in getting good deals for his country.

As before though, what he believes good deals are, may only be short term, and in the end, counterproductive.
