Famous Boxing Day Invasions.

Wigan away in 83, still have laughs thinking about it. Never known a ground overtook by so many Bolton fans, apart from Ewood in 78.

Ha ha did a few of them Wigan jaunts. Remember seeing some chap with a big perm, walking round the ground with a pie hanging from a home made fishing rod

Burnley away during Sir Gary's tenure.

Every not right you could think of out that day.

Went off outside after game at the side of our coaches. They had a pop at a few of ours not realising the whole bus was going empty to steam in to em.

Peteski got that smashed he thought he'd got the train there and made his way to a closed station after game :D

Blackpool mid 80's.

Huge turnout. Spion Kop was closed but gates were kicked in and thousands of ticketless Whites got in for nowt.

Oldham mid 75/76, was that Boxing Day or was Sunderland the Boxing Day game that season ?

Huge turnout at Thowdam and massive crowd to witness Big Sam's Exocet missile with his fat head.

Remember taking a good following up to sunderland one year at the old ground.

Wasn't Grimsby Boxing Day, when we was locked out?, yes roker park one year took good numbers up

Grimsby was Boxing Day we got there early seen my uncles mate who said get your tickets now it's selling out. We won 2-1 I think? And I'm sure some whites without tickets were trying to break into the ground

94?

Paaetlininen equaliser to Gabbiadini goal

I got beat up.

Huddersfield last year Boxing Day? When we sold out the entire stand. Every train from Piccadilly was hammered with Whites going to the game and the pubs once there were rammed. Streets going to the stadium had Bolton lads piling out with Bolton chants. Felt like a home game. Yorkshires finest weren't prepared for the onslaught.

Yeah think it was. Nathan Blake got the winner and was carried off by the rest of the team at the end. Was bloody cold as well.

Nah was 28th I think, didn't we play Rovers on Boxing Day?

Blackpool away 1978 I think. Don't know how many, but certainly wanderers all over the ground after filling the Kop.i remember one in 1984 ish at Blackpool too. Gates locked and wanderers climbing the walls to get in.

I give it up as a bad job and went to Bloomfield pub if memory serves.

The Blackpool game was 85/86 the turnout was randomly large the boys in blue were bricking it & in the end decided to open the gates to the derelict Kop to relieve the pressure in that poxy back street where the away turnstiles were sited. We decided to get in via the home turnstiles but we're immediately pounced on by the stewards & marched around the pitch to the away section obviously get much abuse & missiles .1-1 I think cracking day out.

Preston for Roger Hunts debut; more Bolton than Preston on the ground. The other massive following around Xmas was Huddersfield in the cup where there was about 15000 whites there

Boxing Day 1977.

Hardly invasions but epic trips to Hartlepool, Southend and Orient in the late 80s stick in the mind. Last two for lunchtime KOs I think. Two draws and a loss - nothing changes!

Think Cross scored ours and then Mike Walsh with a late equaliser. First time I'd been to Bloomfield. Never seen us win there.

Southend in Boxing Day - drew 1-1.

Sunderland was a good day. We ended up in a pub with a stripper and had breakfast in a cafe where the woman cooking and serving our breakfast was smoking and dropping fag ash into our fry ups!!!

Think that may have been Damping Des...

Only man I've known with a plimsoll line on his mattress.

I know it's a few days after boxing day, but what about a pitch invasion during the Rovers game and instead of twatting the inbreds from Blackburn, we can kick shit out of our players and Lennon?

I was in the 'stand' at Blackpool away Christmas 85.

Below us were lads.

To this day I don't know if they were Bolton or Blackpool.

Rough as though.

I know things are bad but I'd still kick fuck out of the 6 fingered cunts first!

Took the piss all day. Came a little unstuck with rugby lads but not bad for young un's.
