Breightmet Boy Posted June 9, 2016 Posted June 9, 2016 Just been up to the Macron and it's got Parky Anewman is happy with Parkinson, it's all smelling of roses I tell yer chaps and chapesses Quote
Leyther_Matt Posted June 9, 2016 Posted June 9, 2016 Hadn't realised that Parkinson was at Reading at the time of the 1995 play off final but he wasn't in the squad according to Wiki. Quote
mannyroad58 Posted June 9, 2016 Posted June 9, 2016 Can this thread be closed now thank fuck Open a new thread like "how long will he last" or "how many games do we give him before we all hate him" Quote
fishbulb Posted June 9, 2016 Posted June 9, 2016 We've not spent a lot of time over the half way line let alone the finish line. Anyway, you've got to love a man who has interviewed Muhammed Ali. Quote
BOWTUN BAKED Posted June 9, 2016 Posted June 9, 2016 There's a reason. Nakhi Wells is playing a division above Parkinson managing. That's the latest comment, read into that what you will. Quote

MalcolmW Posted June 9, 2016 Posted June 9, 2016 Can't possibly play attractive football on their mud bath anyway. Manningham won the first RL Championship playing at Valley Parade. Against Tyldesley they lost 0-6 away and won 6-0 at home. Against Leigh they lost 11-0 away and won 40-3 at home - their highest score. Their only home defeat was 0-3 to Brighouse Rangers. No team reached double figures against them at VP, where they kept 9 clean sheets. Quote
Moderators Carlos Posted June 9, 2016 Moderators Posted June 9, 2016 If i had the time or inclination i'd troll that smug prick endlessly reminding him hourly what a shithouse he is. He's a mushroom. Kept in the dark and fed shit. Quote
Site Supporter superjohnmcginlay Posted June 9, 2016 Site Supporter Posted June 9, 2016 From Reading forum: Didn't Parky start his career with Bury? Looks like Bolton have made the wise choice. Probably the right choice for them. Parky has an intimate knowledge of League's One and Two. Probably better than McDermott and Adkins and more recent and up to date than Cotterill. He has also proven to be able to succeed with very limited resources at Bradford. They have certainly punched well above their weight since Parky has been in charge. Bolton being a club in massive debts need that kind of manager. They have certainly made the best choice. Parky probably doesn't want to be pigeon holed or labelled as the manager that can do well with a League One side with no money at all to spend. Parky needs to somehow get out of that pigeon hole so that he can progress to bigger clubs and bigger budgets. Quote
Benny Bear Posted June 9, 2016 Posted June 9, 2016 Good choice, if it is true. The other mentioned candidates have all had very recent failures. I always think he comes over well when interviewed with a calm demeanour. Has a good history of working on a tight budget. Long ball. Everyone would play a long ball game to a 6ft 4ins (Hanson) centre forward - you'd be foolish not to. Play to your strengths. Quote

It'd be like having Andy Carroll/Christian Benteke in your team and not getting crosses in the box as often a possible. *cough* Liverpool *cough* Quote

Ghana White Posted June 9, 2016 Posted June 9, 2016 I'm pleased with the appointment, good bit of a business and explains having to wait to some extent. I'm not entirely sure why he's coming if I'm honest but I'm not going to complain about that. Quote
jagermoot Posted June 9, 2016 Posted June 9, 2016 Great stuff! But why do i still feel nervous? Quote
DaveTheRave Posted June 9, 2016 Posted June 9, 2016 I'm happy enough with Parkinson. Well done Anderson and Holdsworth. Quote
Sweep Posted June 9, 2016 Posted June 9, 2016 Great stuff! But why do i still feel nervous? Because we've still got a squad of awful, overpaid players? Quote
Compo Posted June 9, 2016 Posted June 9, 2016 Fantastic appointment. Can't wait to see if he can turn things round. Quote
stevieb Posted June 9, 2016 Posted June 9, 2016 Good "told you so" quotability there compo I like it. In other news Jaap Stam tipped to be the new reading manager. Quote
Guest Posted June 9, 2016 Posted June 9, 2016 Looks a reasonable punt We must have a few bob spare Quote
tyldesley_white Posted June 9, 2016 Posted June 9, 2016 Because we've still got a squad of awful, overpaid players? Maybe overpaid, awful not so much, we need someone to get the best out of what we have, some managers can do it some cant, Sam could, Megson to some extent could, freedman couldn't, coyle couldn't and neither could Lennon. Only time will tell if Parkinson can but, we have to give him time to try and sort out this sorry mess Quote
MancWanderer Posted June 9, 2016 Posted June 9, 2016 Have we won away yet? No! For that.......Boooo!!!! Parkinson out Quote
Mounts Kipper Posted June 9, 2016 Posted June 9, 2016 I think Cotterill still in the mix, hope so backed him at 20/1. Im hoping Bradford will sack Phil Parkinson after they get knocked out of the play offs he would then be my number 1 choice a perfect fit for us. Nice to see the club listening to supporters. Quote
onlyoneawalker Posted June 9, 2016 Posted June 9, 2016 Steve Parkin assistant? Also good experience Quote
