Greek Holidays

Hello!

My Mrs wants to go to Greece next summer, so I am now doing my homework! We like to go to about 3 different places, spending around 3 nights in each location.

I have thought about flying to Parga, then getting the ferry to Paxos and then a ferry to Corfu, staying in Kassiopi.

As we haven't been to Greece before, does this sound any good? We don't like chavvy destinations, a nice harbour, with plenty of restaurants and tavernas is our kind of thing.

Any recommendations on a multi trip to anywhere in Greece is much appreciated!

Think widness is the man to ask ..,

He can certainly tell you where the best goats are

Crete is decent round Elounda

A mate of mine went to Kassiopi, loved it so much has returned 3 years on the trot.

I think bigtoe is out there goat bothering at the moment, isn't he?

I'd defo put Corfu on the list.

Isn't Greece awash with ISIS migrants?

You're thinking of Farnworth

What? - Greece is awash with Farnworth migrants?

Rhodes

zakynthos

Crete

Corfu

In that order but all ace. Love Greece.

Lindos on Rhodes is brilliant

I'm really not. I do my level best not to think of Farnworth.

Not seen any tbh, i brought a suitcase of johnnies too.

Just cant beat Greece if you pick your resort well. I never do the main resorts, I research the tavernas first and pick around that! If you can get a Sunday roast a chinese and a full english i knock it off the list.

I am in Corfu, a place called Arillas, its ace. Loads of cracking tavernas and some nice little bars.

Paleokatritsa is nice too if you fancy Corfu.

Last year we were in Lesvos at the time of the refugee crisis. Didnt affect us even though we saw it unfolding. they have sorted it out there now. Thats a great island. Cheap as owt. We were in Anaxos, but went to Petra and Molyvos (both ace). Think TC have stopped direct flights from Manc for next season sadly.

Crete (Piskopiano/Koutalafari) also superb. Cas has been plenty of times.

And stayed a few times in Kefalonia and Kos (Lassi, Svoronata, Tingaki).

Might look at a smaller island and ferry trip next year. Think widnes is your man. Think its Lefkada he goes.

went to alykanas in zakynthos last year, a small village this year iam going to tsilivi which is the next resort along will report back when ive been, corfu is also very good.

Thanks Bigtoe, you've been a big help. I really fancy Parga on the mainland and Corfu isn't far on the ferry from there. I'll keep on doing some more homework on the resorts in Corfu.

I've been to Parga, Paxos and Kassiopi several times

Paxos is on my top 3 favourite places of all time, Lakka is a lovely place and the food is outstanding. I've been all over the world and Greece is my favourite place on earth, I've been all over Greece and Lefkas is my favourite place on earth so consider Nidri in Lefkas instead of Parga, you fly to Preveza airport for both Parga and Lefkas. I dare you to do Lefkas and tell me it's not the best place you've ever been

Anyhow, flights to Preveza are quite expensive, so definitelty fly to Corfu first and get the plane back from Preveza, works out miles cheaper or fly to corfu, get the Olympic Airways plane from Cofru town to Preveza then get a taxi to Parga

Paxos, anti paxos, Kefalonia, Zakinthos, Ithica, Corfu, Lefkada are all easily reached by ferry or plane if you fancy being a bit more adventurous

Kassiopi is lovely, probably my favourite place on Corfu and I think I've done every resort on Corfu, Roda is nice if you have children

Just back from parga 4weeks ago 2nd time love it plenty tarvernas

That's great that, thanks. How does this sound? Fly to Corfu, stay a few nights in Kassiopi, then ferry from Corfu to Paxos, stay in Paxos for a few nights and then ferry from Paxos to Nidri in Lefkada and then fly back from Preveza?

That sounds ideal but there is no direct ferry between Paxos and Lefkada, you'd have to go to Igominitsa then get the bus up to lefkada which is a pain in the arse. There used to be a sea plane between all the Ionian Islands and it was really cheap but it went tits up and so thats out of the window now. The flying dolphin between Corfu and Paxos is ace, it's got a bar on it, tv's and is fast as fuck. Last time I did the 3 Islands I did the folllowing

1 night in Corfu Town

Dolphin to Paxos - Stayed in Lakka

Dolphin back to Corfu - Stayed in Kassiopi

Plane Corfu to Preveza - Stayed in Nidri

Plane from Prevaza back to Manchester

Sounds great that except the last leg.

Going to Gouves near Heraklion in September

Can't wait

Paphos is beautiful and loads to do for the history buffs. Plus Greece has got some of the best food in Europe.
