Never seen James but seen Charlatans loads - ace every time!

Tempted again! Think the Charlatans deserve 15 minutes longer at least this time.

Anyone bothering with Miles Kane at Academy in November?

Latest track is ace; Muse meets T-Rex... Might give it a go

Seen James loads, never the Charlatans- Defo up for this

Noticing this brilliant track from Nina Simone being used more and more in advertisement backing tracks etc. these days. Seen four different products using it over the last month or so,

Class is permanent (and this particular video seems to resonate with the times we are going through).

Top drawer music that

Absolutely ageless

Spot on Jules. Said that to the missus today. Wouldn't think it was 50 odd years old eh?

Always loved Nina Simone.

Seems like a tortured soul

Was a great gig in Liverpool for the "one time only" looking forward to the double header again.

Miles Kane new stuff sounded really good at Neighbourhood. Not got tickets yet but do fancy it. Heard Cabbage for the first time at Neighbourhood too, cracking support.

Gotta see if I can fit in The Sherlocks at a church in Preston too.

Was on the way down to Wimbledon for our first ever Premier League match at Selhurst Park on the Saturday. Think we all presumed Oasis would win the day after. Shocker!!

Anyone listened to Play by Dave Grohl yet?

Blur for me.

Leisure was on near constant rotation for about 6 months in my yoof

Blur > Oasis for me too. Listen back to their back catalogues and Blur wrote songs Oasis could only dream about. Plus Oasis were massively formulaic and I started to get bored after their 1st album. Blur could switch styles and musically made Oasis look like mugs.

Plus Liam's voice sounds like a rusty car door opening and shutting. Honestly it's not a nice sound to listen to.

Pavement piss on both of them mind.

Don't you mean... wipe the floor with them?

Both - they piss on them and then wipe the floor on them - a floor which is covered in their own piss :)

Shirley Manson likes this

Oasis for me. No contest really. I have no doubts which of the two's music will still be being played after another decade.

Even Damon Albarn said Oasis were a better band.

Its not even close

Oasis were by far the better "band".

Though musically and stylistically Blur surpass Oasis easily.

One or the other being more popular in time doesn't exactly equate to a good measure of what is/was best though does it?
