  • Not quite a show… but the missus has fallen asleep mid program; I do it all the time, just watch on… she doesn’t agree. She’s now fallen asleep 3 times during last 10 mins of episode of Outlaws.

I know pal and I would just glue the wig on first and rattle fuck out of it in reality. And if it fell off close my eyes or turn her over

further to that, in the film, Bilbo gives Frodo the ring and he pretty much starts the journey right away

in the films he waits something like 20 years!

I preferred the film ending anyway

Each to their own but the Hobbits returning to clear up at home was I thought a better ending.

Agree with NIC that Bombaldi would have been a struggle to get in there.

Other changes - the elves turning at Helms Deep was strange but worked. The fact that Gandalf was meant to turn up with 'others' rather than the rest of the Rohirram ( no idea how to spell it) probably just easier to film.

In the book it is other rangers who come and tell Aragorn to take the paths of the dead and then the dead do not go to big battle, but again you would need to explain who the army Aragorn turns up with are.

Overall I think it did not ruin the film but first time watching it was strange when different things happened as it did distract me.

Not sure if the line 'my friends you bow to no man' is a line from the book but it does work incredibly well in the film.

the last one dragged on that much at the end I think another half hour to do the clear up would've been too far

my favourite line from the films is "and so it begins" which works great - was very surprised that wasn't in the books

Much as I enjoyed the two sagas came away thinking "call the fuck off big eagles early doors".

It's a sin is on c4 at 9pm with some scenes filmed on Le Mans Crescent 👍

There’s lots of bumming doing on thus far.

Cracking music though 👍 even if it is full of bumming

I can’t wait for the ex-pats to tune in for a glimpse of home.

It was a couple of years ago when they were filming this. I was attempting one morning to drop some children who are wheelchair users off at the town hall. I was being directed and diverted all around Bolton getting increasingly more irritated. I got as close as the police station when I saw what looked like a scruffy set of twats dressed in retro gear, looking like they were protesting. This was round about the time when there were extinction rebellion protesters around the NW. I got out of the minibus ready to give them a piece of my mind when some steward guy explained they were filming this “It’s a sin” with Stephen Fry in it.

Off topic, but when they were filming Peaky Blinders they parked all the vintage cars near the cop shop on Manny Rd. Confused the fuck out of me.

There wasn't that much bumming in it to be honest.

or storyline

I take it that's the reason why bad Aids is trending on twitter

COVID is the new arse AIDS

Without the joys of bumming. Bum deal

Bolton Town Hall Square was once a Russian town square with the shittest hardboard and plywood construction as steps down to the metro stop. Looked bloody fantastic on the side they filmed.

@Aniyou bothered watching the serpent yet pal? 😎

I see that Sky Atlantic are finally going to screen Zero Zero Zero. If you liked Gomorrah and Romanzo Criminale, don't miss it. Very good.

Did Acceptable Risk this weekend. Pretty good.

I’ve read the book so I’m expecting to be disappointed but the early reviews were panning it. I might give it a go now
