  • Benedict Cumberbatch played Alan Turing in The Imitation Game, he's not even a proper bummer.

  • Not quite a show… but the missus has fallen asleep mid program; I do it all the time, just watch on… she doesn’t agree. She’s now fallen asleep 3 times during last 10 mins of episode of Outlaws.

I'm guessing after more than 30 years and it being put to bed in the court some people are done with it.

I've got no desire to watch it. We've seen the one with Eccleston and we've watched the whole court case play out. Not sure why another drama is needed.

We've also got safe standing back and some copper chief nob head on the radio said to paraphrase 'women, kids, old bids and disabled will avoid these areas so it'll just be lads aged 18 to 55... Its a recipe for DISASTER'

No its a recipe for a bit of atmosphere and you lot having to do some fucking work for your overtime. Sure as fuck won't be a disaster like Hillsborough!

It it is a whole lot more personal than that really, being focused on one of the mother’s and her fight for years afterwards to try and find out what happened to her 15 year old lad.

I know there’s plenty been said about the disaster over the years, but sometimes it is healthy to refresh and just remember that 95 families saw their loved ones go to a game and never come home.

When’s the one on heysel?

I won’t be watching this Anne bollocks.

Is it not 97 victims now?

50,000 every other saturday

Yes, but I was being more specific in terms of the ‘not coming home’ as the latter two were obviously years afterwards.

This. Hillsborough has been explored many times and from many different angles but what Anne and the others did was extraordinary. Those of us following BWFC in those days know what the South Yorkshire police were like. I give you the Barnsley FA Cup game as one example.

That support group exposed the coppers and the “establishment” for what they were at the time. Utter cunts. Some supporters were the same. Cunts. Who caused problems. But the tarnishing of all supporters was a get out clause for massive failings

Anyone who won’t watch it or dismisses the whole Hillsborough thing because it was scouse cunts needs to think about one thing

9th March 1946

I'm not dismissing it as scouse cunts by the way. Before my time. Was a week away from being 4 when it happened.

But I've watched loads of stuff on it over the years. Was hoping the court case going in the families favour would draw a line under it

Safe standing back... Amazing.

Maxine Peake pulling compo face on the beeb (all assumptions 🤣)... I'll avoid.

That 2 hour Hillsborough documentary is all you need to watch, based on facts and shows it was the police and not the fans that caused it

Anything else is for grief junkies

24 hours in police custody tonight, another fucking baby murderer.

Nope. Can't do it.

Just finished series 4 of Yellowstone - decent.

Kelly Reilly is fuckin gorgeous! Especially what she wears in the last episode...

Would rather watch the tourist again then watch that.

With you brother. Anyone ever read Brian Cloughs autobiography and his comments on the subject having been there and experienced it?

Terrible for the families - no arguments there. Apportioning blame however - totally unbalanced. The problem was caused by pissed up and ticketless fans jibbing in. They can point fingers at others as much as they like; the real instigators of the tragedy remain unpunished and I wonder if they can truly sleep at night?

They will never take ownership of the 39 and the same applies for the 96.

Your anti-LFC stance is worrying to me - it smacks of scum sympathy. Who gives a shit about Liverpool FC? Do you hate Leeds too?

I'm sure Tim Burgess 'supports' the vermin.

When bollocks like this is repeated, despite it being proven several years and enquiries ago, that that's what it is, bollocks, then one can see the need for further TV dramas.

A lad from Atherton, Wick  (one of our mates actually) was always regarded as the 97th victim, he gave his ticket to a mate of his who had never been to a semi final and he was killed in the mayhem, Wick could not live with the guilt and jumped in front of a train

I'll leave the blame game alone. It's another source of entrenchment that's not good. I have my views courtesy of my best mate who was there, albeit up in the corner in that section between Leppings Lane and the cantilever stand.

As for the programme, Maxine Peake is superb, and portrays that Anne woman well, and the traumas that she went through

just had a look at that ANNE

died of the big C 2013 😪

This guy was severely disabled ever since the match and died last year. Verdict was he died of his injuries from Hillsborough... Therfore number 97

Athy I think there's quite a few 'survivors guilt' suicides that could be thrown into the mix so the true number could be much higher.

Stay Close on Netflix. It was ridiculous and convoluted with 52 too many sub-plots. But i must have been somewhat entertained as i watched it all in one sit in 🤷‍♂️

Quite possibly, he is the one we knew and grew up with

My mate has been on at me for ages to watch that, now after 3 episodes of 1883 he’s saying that’s better

Their lack of responsibility for Heysel is unbelievable, buts for another thread and another time 😁
