FFS. This isn't Behind The Stands. Most folk come on here to read bullshit rumours and conjecture, with the odd bit of accurate stuff thrown in. It's boring as fuck reading your personal squabbles.

  • Sure it's that Mandela effect in full flow here that we all seem to be OK with this. It's a fucking travesty and complete shitshow. He's our most prolific striker by a country mile, has been

We've just won promotion using a gaggle of players nobody else wanted, littered with injury plagued loanees and players that were cast as cart horses, one trick ponies and generally weak as piss.

Also, of the 3, hes far the most likely to score

Not wholly fair.

Two in midfield, frequently with one of them being Sheehan, who can't tackle a good dinner, leaves the defence exposed.

Wingbacks being asked to do 2 jobs doesn't help neither.

If he wants 3 up top, then 4 at the back for me.

Without checking, hasn't Toal missed some of our worst games eg Stockport?

And Toal doesn't decide the tactic of not marking at corners so we could have Van Dyke and Stones at CB and we'd still be conceding plenty from set pieces.

Zonal marking really don’t like it !

Agreed. It requires the opposition to play ball and operate in those zones. Quality players will find ways to double up, to play on the borders, to leave some zones alone for periods. It takes bloody good zonal defenders to react to that.

I'm agreeing with your point, but I'd say Sunday league players would find those gaps.  I wish zonal marking had been around when I was playing, the luxury of not being tightly marked at set pieces!  Not only a few more chances to score, but a few less digs in the ribs and sly trips.

Dick Van Dyke & the Rolling Stones would do as well as we do on setpieces.

Watched the Cambridge v Shrewsbury highlights Dan the man scored a tap in also set one up , he seems to have bulked up , don’t know really if he’s improved but seemed up for the physical stuff ……..I was thinking about all our lightweights.

Could he be a useful sub ? Is he worse or on a par with Victor?

Or am I straw clutching big-time ?

ps Katchunga played well .jsl.

Don’t think there is much in it for Vic v Dan

Don't disagree, but I actually do think Dan is better on the ball, coming for it from deeper areas.

Vic the better and more natural finisher.

Both playing at the very limit of their ability though.

Both are very average L1 strikers.  Bang average, one might say.

Best case scenario is neither are here after January and we've got Charles and one of McAtee or Collins (as long as he gets his finger out of his arse) regularly starting up top for us.

Obvs we'd need to bring in another striker, but that shouldn't be a problem as we'll have £1m+ to spend courtesy of Victor's Turkish transfer fee.

I thought that too, he looked a much more physical presence than when he was here. I’d certainly bring him back to see how he does maybe ahead of Victor.

I think we have to take into account the opposition he was up against on Saturday

He's scored 3 in 13, all being starts

A permanent move in January probably suits all parties

Proper random one from Twitter this morning.

Jonas Therkelsen, plays for Stromsgodset in Norway. 21 year old midfielder.

From the same account that had the Schon move first as well so could be something in it.

Just looked him up on transfermarkt. Says on there he can play Centre mid, defensive mid, centre back, right back, left wing, right wing and centre forward. Paul Warhurst on steroids.

That's got LWB written all over it.

Don’t worry, Evatt will still find a square hole for him.

Early days but it sounds like the board are ready to really back the statement that he’s the man to do it. Fair play. Hope the continued interest in BWFC carries on if we don’t make it.

That's our new goal keeper as well kept on the bench just in case

Therkelsen on utube. Strong forward runs from his own half, left right and centre, tries to stay on his feet. Seems a handful. Don't know the level he plays at but looks like plastic pitches.

He looks from the footage like a Dempsey replacement, although I'm not entirely sure I don't just think that because he favours him physically

Can he do that all at once?
