We've just won promotion using a gaggle of players nobody else wanted, littered with injury plagued loanees and players that were cast as cart horses, one trick ponies and generally weak as piss.

  • Like when we went up from league 2, we needed tried and tested players from that specific division/level to deal with the task in hand. Doyle and Sarcs etc. We need exactly the same in this divis

Aye that delay set us back 2 seasons imo.

Hence the massive transition we are in right now.

I was an Evatt apologist till the nearly the end but christ if anyone thinks SS didn't inherit a car crash they are living on the moon.

The culture of the club was fucked, the system was fucked, the balance of the sqaud fucked and the whole mentality of certain players totally fucked too.

I don't think people realise just what a task SS and Fergal have had on their hands.

Can only hope he set us back 2 years mate.

After Oxford, I was resigned to another 5 years or so at this level.

Never have an easier chance, a complete fuck up.

CMG to Exeter confirmed finally

Good for Carlos, deserves a run somewhere to get his career back on track. I suspect there's a decent enough player in there.

Given the huge fee for Thomo and the others and the fact that we have several loanees I suspect Schumacher has change in his pocket - which he could choose to spend.

And/Or …if Evatt “wasn’t getting the best out of his players” as some have suggested, he could turn them round himself and save a few more bob.

And if Evatt was getting the best out of them then he wants shooting for wasting millions on them.

Sky Sports News is unwatchable with these bunch of twats

He tried that once with Diddles, but got absolutely pwned.

He can only get a semi due to being a vile druggy thug

Overall Evatt did a great job for us. Until he didn’t.

Folk are fickle now. A bad run undoes all the positivity or past achievements.

We played some absolutely scintillating football for 2.5-3 years but it went tits up and then he was viewed as a shit manager, rather than a good manager having a shit spell.

It had all very much gone stale by the end, but people are going way overboard about what IE left.

Considering the manager had gone mental and every player was absolute dogshit they made winning games look a lot easier than we have done since.

He was a good manager with a decent  sized budget but unfortunately totally inflexible when teams started to negate our style of play........and the thought that he may actually be wrong once in a while never appeared to have entered his mind.

Like Parky before him he had some success but fans were bored beyond belief by the end of his tenure.

In terms of playing squad, yes.

In terms of the overall state and status of the club, SS had it easier.

Sharon and FV had to do a lot of work to rebuild the club's reputation after the kunterson era, and they have done that in spades since.

It was more than a one bad run he would have been sacked during the Covid season when we were near the bottom if crowds were allowed in then turned it around . A bad run when we had games in hand on derby a 3rd bad run from Jan so we limped into the playoffs to Oxford then half a season of shit when he left

We don't know that for sure.

Sharon and FV showed their loyalty in subsequent years, and I reckon they would have then.

There was a good hour this afternoon when they had on Christian Purslow, former CE of Liverpool and Villa, gave some interesting insight into the inner workings of the window from a club's perspective

I actually have an aunty Sharon and not once since I left primary school have I ever called or referred to her as that.

It's like grown folk calling their parents mummy and daddy when they themselves are mummy and daddy to their little children. Makes me cringe like fuck.

You do know other people do, & are very entitled to do, different things than you ?

Otherwise life must be a constant stream of angry confusion.

I still refer to mine as aunty and uncle.

Not doing wouldn't seem right!

Aye meant more that we were bookies favourites for promotion couple seasons ago and again up there in the odds last season.

This is a bigger challenge than any of the past 3 seasons imo.

There isn’t. He is rubbish. Glad we don’t have to put up with him  and the people pretending he’s not rubbish anymore
