Already approached him? Understatement of the year. We tried to sign Christie 12 years ago when he was a 21 year old. 😀

Playing the long game 😁

Ta. Do we know if it's a strain or a tear? Tendons involved?

I.e a couple of weeks or a couple of months...

Not necessarily. He needs a month for them to get to know each other, another to fiddle with the system to accommodate them, the rest of the season to learn how to play it, and all of next year to correct any bugs in the system and replace anyone who ever had their careers ruined by Ian Evatt.. Or he could just get on with what he's paid for and getting us promoted starting with a win on Saturday.

Don’t forget we have several players still not up to speed even though they went through a pre season with us . Rome wasn’t built in a day

Anywhere from 2 to 4 outgoings tonight

Long term injury so sounds like months not weeks don’t think they have gone into to much detail if it’s a op or rest required yet

I find it really remarkable the Evatt was afforded 4 years of underachieving, both on the pitch and in the "moneyball" approach to squad buiilding before the pressure was on from some, but Schumacher has barely been afforded 6 months.

You'd think Schumacher was the one of the two that was thoroughly unlikeable as a bloke, to explain the shortness of patience...

i think people just don't want people saying it is not his squad. Nobody wants rid of him and we have a few years to get it right.

I thought the issue was more about whether losing at home to Wycombe last season with a disparate bunch has any correlation to what he’s doing now?

But there’s been that much hot air I’m not sure what the point is any more! 😂

Is anybody saying that he’s not absolutely accountable for what’s happening now and for the rest of the season? If they are then fair play to call them out, it’s his squad now, he needs to get the best out of them.

I’m still not convinced it will click and  turn instantly and we may be looking at more business in January. But 14 is well enough for now IMO.

I still have an issue if anyone’s trotting out Schumachers losses from last season - they sound like that Wigan penguin.

I suspect it's more more to do with underachieving Evatt's 50% win percentage at the heart of the problem. I know he only managed to become the third highest all time winner in our history and delivered a promotion and won some Cup or other - all with players who were apparently shit - but that obviously created unrealistic expectations amongst the fanbase for some reason and now the fans have the audacity to expect Schuey's new look BWFC to win a game occasionally. Especially against teams currently lurking in and around the relegation zone and Sheff W's under 10s.

They need to realise Rome wasn't built in seven months, the impatient bastards.

I'm not worried though - it's going to click soon, hopefully against another team in the relegation zone on Saturday.

He also equalled Phil Neal’s club record of unsuccessful attempts to get out of the third tier!

As discussed your opinion is null and void as you are too positive 😁

Finishing 3rd? He and bwfc have had a few worse than that.,..

…As I’m typing I’m now assuming you don’t consider that a success 😂

Promotion out of L2?

Perhaps I should have said from the start of the season, it’s fair game to be critical and disappointed of where we find ourselves and SS , more than anyone, is accountable for that.

I was just jesting pal as this seems to be the crux of the disagreement. I’m same as you. It’s his squad now. You can’t point at the centre backs as not his choice when he’s made them captain and vice captain.

I'm genuinely starting to think you actually are Evatt, or Amy.

Evatt took over when we were on our uppers.

Got us promoted, then year on year improved until it all went south.

How on earth anyone can class that as underachieving is bonkers.

A bit like a modern day Neal- dragged us up until his time was over.

Of course his departure ended up being overdue and acrimonious with the fans, but the club SS came into was far more stable than when Evatt arrived.

No one is slagging SS off etc, but it isn't unreasonable to expect to see improvements in results.

Everyone knows his overall record, and he is being cut some slack, as he rebalanced his squad.

Nevertheless, he has been told by the hierarchy what is expected, and I doubt very much he will get the longevity Evatt got if he doesn't succeed fairly quickly.

Aye.

I "fell out" with the fella long before he went, but his record wasn't that bad.

Final season, he/they just fell off a cliff.

You just sound like a proper dick now.

Trying to judge who we should be beating, based on the table after 6 games is just stupidity.
