FFS. This isn't Behind The Stands. Most folk come on here to read bullshit rumours and conjecture, with the odd bit of accurate stuff thrown in. It's boring as fuck reading your personal squabbles.

  • Sure it's that Mandela effect in full flow here that we all seem to be OK with this. It's a fucking travesty and complete shitshow. He's our most prolific striker by a country mile, has been

We've just won promotion using a gaggle of players nobody else wanted, littered with injury plagued loanees and players that were cast as cart horses, one trick ponies and generally weak as piss.

Was talking last night, pissed up, that I’d like him to have a quiet December, go under the radar, let our other forwards take the limelight, while obviously still winning.

Get folk on-board that he’s still developing, still a lot to learn, it’s not going to happen for him every week and that staying in L1 with us is where he needs to be…

…nah fuck that 😂. MOTM every week, keep going lad!

We’ve just got to keep enjoying him while he’s here, it’s an absolute entertaining pleasure watching him perform every week, it’s fucking fantastic.

Told you mate, Russian style media blackout is the way.

Come off all social media. Don't allow any filming of the matches.

Put him down on the team sheet as Trialist.

Lock him in the hotel till Feb and tell him covid is back.

He's never getting in this current Brighton team. .... which shows the gulf which exists really.

Only a few months ago he was struggling for impact with Jackburn.

He is still young and may well make it-just as Harry Kane did. Plenty of time on his contract too.

On the other hand, it is unlikely he would get into their first team now, and if he goes back at the end of the season what does he do?

Stay and try to prove himself, and risk not getting much game time.

Go on loan again- unlikely to get a gig elsewhere in the Premier league, so championship at best.

Or bite the bullet, take a permanent move and build his career from there.

Sometimes promising young players don't quite make it at the top, despite seeming to have everything.

Perhaps it's a mentality/confidence thing.

One thing is for sure- he is playing well, getting loads of game time, and being lauded by big crowds and decent atmosphere. I reckon he is enjoying himself and us happy too. Worth a lot.

One thing that works in his favour (and ours) is that he's not 21 until the end of the season, so he's got another underage season.

The next step is therefore another breakout season in the Championship or in Europe.

Indeed.

If it's another loan, then stay here (assuming, as I suggested initially, we go up).

At the end of next season, he would have 12 months left on his Brighton contract, which may give them something to think about.

He'll be our marquee signing when we open up the championship war chest next season

That's the stuff dreams are made of.

You can tell ACD is absolutely loving being here, he plays like he's enjoying himself.

Aye.

Listening to Christie- perhaps his comments about some being young and some being confidence players is pertinent to him amongst others.

A good manager/coach, good overall set up, comfortable atmosphere etc, make him feel welcome, and produce his best.

Gain the experience, and improve resilience and self belief.

Seem to remember that Arsenal were quibbling on his wage demands of £500 per week which blew that deal out of the water. Reidy had a great career, but before his injuries he was a fantastic player. Had everything, was England under 21 captain, in a team that included Glen Hoddle.

Well he would say he'd been offered an amount by Wolves & it was up to Arsenal to match or better it.

We wanted the larger fee, he wanted the larger wage ... & he went on strike about it after he returned. He is a Scouser after all. He was a fantastic player & made himself the fulcrum of any team he played in.

Heskey on loan from City?

Based on his dads recommendation? No thanks.

Sad that. Unless we actually enquired about him.

Touting your lad to a specific club seems quite a bizarre thing to do.

Just read the BN article.

I don't see what the problem is- he sees what his son needs in terms of senior football and that is something that we as fans often talk about with regard to our, and other teams' young players.

I also reckon he's being a bit complimentary- I'd be concerned if he said there's no way he's going to Bolton!

Clearly, any decision along those lines would be down to us wanting him, and City feeling it's the right thing for their player.

I'm sure EH would also be happy for him to have a similar loan to certain other clubs too.

Emile William Ivanhoe Heskey did play for us 10 years ago and might have had a good experience here 🤷🏻‍♂️

Didn’t he score against Blackburn…. Was at the forest away game when he played centre half…. That wasn’t a good look.

I’d forgotten all about that! God we were a shambles for a while. Didn’t we also have Matt Mills up front for a few games (likely a season or two before Heskey at the back).

And yes, he did score against Rovers. Think it was a late winner off memory, although my memory of those 4/5 seasons from 2015-2020 ish is terrible.

Think Eidur crossed it for him and was his debut

Wonder what the combined age of those two would have been at the time

Though I'm annoyed that Eidur let his lad go to Blackburn instead of us.

Think he came on as half time sub and it weas his first touch??

It's not when you have a renowned reputation for developing young players on loan.

He did come on at H-T but presume not his first touch, it was a 59th minute equaliser.  Pratley scored the winner 3 minutes later.  I've just looked at the report and there's a quote from their manager (Bowyer) that their starting line up were all 26 or under "so the future of the club is secure".  They were relegated two seasons later.  You don't avoid relegation with kids.
