Sorry RV yes you’re correct Right Back not Wing Back my mistake. I agree he looks really comfortable in that position so hopefully he will come on as well as Max has done.

Ah, not the same club technically speaking, so we've had our revenge in a way.

They went tits up and re-formed in 1992.

This new club then went into administration in 2013, but we're rescued by a new owner.

Suppose it's like Accrington & Accrington Stanley.

Accrington were founder members of the Football League in 1888. In 1893 they finished 15th of 16 in Division One and were relegated. * Rather than join Division Two, the club resigned from the league and were disbanded in 1896.

Accrington Stanley were founded in 1891. Therefore, the two Accrington clubs coexisted for 5 years until Accrington disbanded. Stanley eventually joined the Football League in 1920, when Division Three (North) was created.

This matters to me because I’m rightly proud of our history and founder member status. I get frustrated when I see founder member lists showing Accrington Stanley. It’s incorrect.

I also get (less) frustrated when I see Stoke City in the list. The city of Stoke was only created in 1925 (five years after Stanley joined the league). At the foundation of the league, the club was simply called Stoke. However, Stoke City are the same club, with a name change.

Were they both league teams though, or were Stanley effectively just a lower level club that just happened to be in the right place to take up the slack after the demise of the initial team?

Accrington Stanley didn’t join the league for another 27 years after Accrington left. They didn’t take up any slack after the original club left the league and then disbanded a few years later. One’s demise and the others rise to league status were unrelated events.

It’s a moot point about name changes. Just as we were previously called Christ Church and the club doesn’t recognise that when it comes to putting the year on scarves etc, there is substantial evidence that a team representing Bolton has played competitive games even much further back and attracting enormous crowds  - even in times preceding the modern rules - and playing against teams representing other towns in the north west including Blackburn and Preston. 
I guess it’s a matter of what you want to decide counts, but there is press coverage of games played in the 1840s.

Back to the Inwood move, it’s just a shame he’s joining an obviously poor struggling side rather than a winning one in Crewe as Max Conway did. Hopefully Coleman will improve them and they’ll move up the league.

Thanks for getting us (me) back on track. I think this is a really good opportunity for Inwood to show what he offers.

Despite their lowly position, Aldershot Town are the 4th highest scorers in the National League, with 29 goals. They clearly carry a threat going forward.

Their problem is at the back, where they’ve conceded 35 goals: 2nd highest in the league. If Inwood can help shore up this defence, Aldershot could move up the league very quickly.

An opportunity to shine, and make a name for himself.

Coleman has a good record of developing youth too, it's a decent move for Sam

Conway went to Buxton, Rochdale and Fyde before he joined Crewe. This is a good move for Inwood.

Thanks for clarifying R/S, I didn’t know that just that the Shots were near the bottom so as you say if Sam can help stop the goals it could be a cracking move. I wish him well and hope SSA can now get a similar situation to develop him too?

Diouff went 40 games without scoring for Liverpool/us combined (I looked it up).  Benteke a recent one, at Palace, 25 games.  Berahino 48 game drought at Stoke!  Plays in the Slovenian 2nd division now.

Hutch had good reviews in his first half dozen games then seemed to be absent for the last few games, can only presume he was injured, but back between the sticks again and a much needed win for Altrincham on Wednesday night, in part down to him.  Guess he's still a way off the first team here at the moment, but keeper's spot up for grabs next season whichever division we are in.
