I don't think we can afford to give Preston 1 million to take Madine, offer them 500k and see what they say

We seem weak in midfield, defending not great and not a lot of creativity, on balance I'd snatch their hand off but with the proviso that we get in someone to plug the gaps.

We have a big fella as back up, and with more possession we might create a few more chances and we have players who'll put the ball in the net.

Karacan, Cullen and Buckley all have injury concerns too.

You know it is one in one out, and a max wage of £4500 don't you? So if Madine went we can sign one player on £4500 a week. I don't think getting rid of our best target man makes any sense, unless of course the money is needed to keep the club going a few months.

Good loan players though command a fee as championship clubs compete for them. It isn't straightforward. The two from West Ham aren't exactly brilliant so far. Madine is probably first name on the teamsheet. Not sure why we'd sell him willingly in our position.

Me too. If this request to the EFL is successful, then maybe there will be some leeway. Either that or more spaces for out of contract types.

 

Given the uncertainty, a million quid in the coffers may be very welcome irrespective of what he may or may not bring to the team.
