Similar to biggish, I read that article and he has resurrected his career well in belgium and now France. Had a great season last year by all accounts

Some people may not all think hes brilliant at his job, but they were putting pics of bald down syndrome kids saying "marc iles spotted" etc.

 

One lad repeatedly calling him fat.

With regards his job, I struggle to see what he gets out of it, he's not even a Bolton fan

Absolutely too right. Can you remember when you used to love this game as well? Proper excited to see results and know how teams are faring. Not some ancient time either, this is premier league era. Now it's so superficial, how many star players are in our top division really? Two? Three?

 

Star players didn't used to matter you'd put MOTD on to watch characters on and off the pitch, now cameras don't even focus on an away end when a goal goes in.

 

I don't care anymore. I barely even care about Wanderers. Shelled out for Ipswich and West Ham in same week but why? Tick it off the 92 I guess. Very, very tough game to get invested in today as a normal fan on the street.

I reckon you're right about the age thing; I used to love setting off early doors for a Saturday three o'clock kick off.

Mooch slowly down the disused railway, a bite to eat and a beer in Darcy then stroll up raikes.

Romance of it isn't there now and that largely changed with age.

The astronomical money in the game and excessive media coverage has changed things as well.
