  • FFS. This isn't Behind The Stands. Most folk come on here to read bullshit rumours and conjecture, with the odd bit of accurate stuff thrown in. It's boring as fuck reading your personal squabbles.

  • Sure it's that Mandela effect in full flow here that we all seem to be OK with this. It's a fucking travesty and complete shitshow. He's our most prolific striker by a country mile, has been

We've just won promotion using a gaggle of players nobody else wanted, littered with injury plagued loanees and players that were cast as cart horses, one trick ponies and generally weak as piss.

Spearing Signed for Blackpool

Jay Spearing signed for Blackpool until the end of the season now - serves him right

Would love to know how much he's getting at Blackpool

Can't be much the way that club is run, I bet he barely covers his petrol

Surprised he didn't do better than that but was obviously holding out for a big contract. Looks like we have finally got a better replacement in Karl Henry. Big mistake by PP not getting an experienced hard tackling midfielder in before the start of the season.

Greedy shit dwarf.

Surely JS can't be on more than about 2K a week? No sympathty!

Another sign post to how far off competitive we are in the championship for me - he must have been shafted by someone no way he’s turning down our offer without having a whisper in his ear

a Blackpool fan mate at work reckons Blackpool offered him 7.5k....he wanted 10k but Blackpool wouldn't pay that

so im guessing somewhere in the middle

No ambition steady option

Can't see Oyston paying anywhere near 7k tbh.

How the mighty one as fallen shouldn't have been so greedy.

No fucking chance Blackpool are paying that kind of money, unless you mean per month?

Then again, I could be completely wrong, as I've no insight whatsoever into these things.

Wanted us to sign him again, but maybe Henry will prove the better option.

Not sure why, but I've got a feeling we're going to get out of the bottom 3.

I'd completely given up hope after the Brentford game.

Same here.......the Brentford game was a bodyblow because I thought that they were one of the teams we could catch, but I don't think our squad are capable of playing the football they played 2nd half,

But......the way we played at Bristol & Villa has given me hope again. Henry has made our midfield more competitive & therefore strengthened the defence, Ameobi is giving us a different attacking threat & Vela could be crucial as a goalscoring midfielder since we can only play with one upfront.

We only need to finish 4th from bottom so we've still got a chance !!

Yes, this is currently where I'm at.

Next two games are vital and "winnable" (on paper, at least).

Four points from two games and it's game on.

my worry is that while we may have tightened up so may stay in games for longer, creativity is still low

have to hope that a couple of clean sheets may lead to an increase in confidence and we score a goal or two

and as posted, ameobi and vela may have a big impact

We aren't all that far away at all. I just have a nagging doubt that we'll be saying that most of the season. Something about BWFC over the past few years has produced teams that overly struggle when they aren't winning games regularly. We cannot seem to take a defeat or two then bounce back. We are either on a bad run or a good one. Nothing in between. And this league needs you to be able to bounce back quickly as some weeks you're just playing a good side.

I'm not that confident. We aren't that far away but we haven't got enough goals in us and we always find a way to concede at the minute like the pen last time out.

Agree with this. I think we will come up a little short most weeks even when we play well, we don't pick any points up. But while the gap is relatively small I live in hope

How big do folk want the gap to be?

We don't fucking score

Does it need to be 0-4 every week or summat?

For me it's about these two home games

4 points and we give ourselves a fighting chance at that

And maybe with ameobi and vela back it may be the lift we need

It's the first week of October. I'm not calling down and out yet

I live in the delusional hope that we will get out of this

Yes there are teams like Boro and Wolves who can chuck £15m at a player to get out of the league. Then well established teams in this league like Derby and Sheff Wed who can chuck money around without needing parachute payments

It's just that the likes of Barnsley and Burton, and no disrespect to them, do it on a very limited budget that gives me hope. But we all know what hope does!

Though in an interview with Nigel Clough before Burton played Man Utd a couple of weeks back he said he liked the championship as Burton are underdogs in every match they play. Wait till they play us!
