Needed that role for years now but sadly doesn’t fit the clubs model

Either did Cameron Jerome and Big Dan so we live in hope :)

... the Karl Henry mode… and that type is a priority signing this season in my eyes.

It was last year & at Christmas.

GT has more balls than any other player in our squad.

If we had another 10 with his attitude we’d have pissed the league

People keep harping on about how we need a tough player in midfield. The sort of player they are referring to doesn't exist anymore. Casing point being Thomasson who's about 9 stone wet through but because he gets a booking every game he's considered a tough man. This isn't 2005. There aren't any stig toftings knocking about in the lower leagues any more.

Not the fair play league, mind.

Nowt to do with him being a ‘hard man’. I’m talking about his attitude.

Mentally, we’ve been weak as piss when it matters. I reckon George has it up top.  We need more like that.

No you’re getting it wrong nobody means that type of player, it’s having a player who can handle himself but knowing when to give fouls away game management being clever

i remember the Rotherham side few years ago at ours not dirty but no pushovers big lads who could mix it, we simply haven’t had/got that and that’s exactly what we need to leave this league

Exactly, the type of player who could be captain and lead the team.

The fact that 21 yellow cards Legohead seems to be the one giving the pre match speech in the huddle shows what we are lacking, can not knock the lads commitment but he is inexperienced with loads to learn.

When was last time you saw one of our players bollocking another one ? Or going mad when we concede a goal ?

But if we had one we would have gone up. There must be a Jaime Pollock type out there somewhere, shirley.

Funny though how often posters complain about other team's players kicking lumps out of ours and getting away with it.

There will always be players who dish it out- certainly as long as other players struggle against it.

This GT love in is out of proportion with his achievements on the field.

He’s improved massively over the last 12 months, way more than any of us could have hoped for.

He can see a pass, he loves winding up the opposition but the truth is, he’s never influenced a game against another strong midfield.

Scored a great goal against Blackpool at home but has never been the most influential player in any game since.

He’s still young and hopefully will progress further but the truth is that he’s been bypassed by other teams with a bit more nous.

Him, Sheehan and Paris were too weak when it mattered.

It’s a shame Evatt didn’t bring Maghoma off as soon as he got injured and replaced him with Dempsey, it might of altered the course of the game.

True but what could Evatt do ?

He sends the physion on , nothings broken/ruptured/shattered, player says he can continue , physio relays that info back .

I think it was pretty clear to everyone though that he was nowhere near as mobile as normal and surely an expert must have seen that better than us and made the decision themselves. Had they done that who knows how different it might have been?

The tackle on Maghoma in the first two minutes is exactly we "we're missing".

Not seen anything like that since Neil Cox on Marc Overmars in fist minute.

Hello - Bang - You're done. These tackles don't happen thirty minutes in, or it's a yellow/red. That tackle on Maghoma won them the game, we never recovered.

Barry Banno, Carl Henry, whatever, we need some skunk and nettles to protect the defence. GT hasn't got it (or hasn't mastered it yet), Dempsey, Sheehan, Morley not that type. That's why I said Iredale, out of the current squad, he's the only one who has that "edge".

I was also impressed by the tackle and wish we had that kind of mentality, but I think you're taking too much from it if you think it's why they won

Think it was the one when Evra got up and asked him why he went in with such a tackle

Davies replies "because I don't like you"
