Correct we are nothing special just another team in league one for another season 

Probably out of our budget but I would be spending the majority of what we have available on bringing back Connell. He’s levels above anything we have in midfield and doesn’t mind getting stuck in.

Must admit I'm totally shit at evaluating other teams players when they play unless they really stand out or run us ragged, Rodney Jack style.

He’s no better than Dempsey, and Dempsey would eat him alive.

I think he'd tick along nicely in our side though. And he's a leader too. Having said that - I wouldn't be forking out loads of money for him!

He would. He's good on the half turn too something which our midfield other than Sheehan struggle with.

But much stronger than Sheehan. Only one goal and one assist in 23/24 which I'm surprised about mind! 

Only going off the Barnsley games Vs us but Connell looked to be playing deeper like Sheehan does for us

If we’re going of last season Dempsey as been poor if he doesn’t get over is back problem we need to get shut of him . Luca had a far better season

Different style of player to Dempsey, I'd compare him more to Tomo.  Both have good passing range long and short, like to get a "tackle" in, good talkers/organisers; not necessarily making forward runs like Dempsey does.  IMO Connell far more to his game than Tomo from what I've seen, but Tomo (and Sheehan) going nowhere so we're not signing a replacement for them and would be too expensive just to be competition; Morley's got that role currently.

Unless you watched Barnsley a lot last season, what are you basing that on?

Dempsey - 49 appearances, 4 goals, 8 assists

Connell - 24 appearances, 1 goal, 1 assist

And that's Dempsey playing half a season with a broken back, hes a far better player than Connell, and if Connell hadn't started at Bolton not a chance any Bolton fans would be coveting him.  

Would love to see connell or ethan hamilton back,  both hage developed since playing for us.
