Think the average over the past couple of years was around 7-8 then there have been a few new improved contracts issued recently so Charles was on or nigh on 10 but could’ve been more. Improved budget across the board means when we’re trying to attract champ ready players we’ve gotta pay that money. Not exclusively of course but for key ones. he wanted a champ move ideally, Pompey were in for him but our offer was better initially which then got swamped by Wrexham. Fair enough I'm not claiming we aren't paying that kind of wage, just that it'd surprise me I suppose football, like everything else, is becoming more expensive
