This £600k+ figure for Osei-Tutu seems high to me for an injury-prone 25 year old with only 50 games under his belt. Was thinking more £250k.

Collins was £750k (I think). Saw £200k banded about for Lolos. Either way great backing from the board, just need to deliver now.

I get Collins vibes from McAtee, in playing style and impact

..and Lolos to some extent - all have similar physique and running style, none are out and out strikers but they all create chances and can score themselves.

So we can avoid any after eventing later in the season can anyone who is not happy with the transfer window just hold their hands up say so now ?

The Board has backed the manager and we have strengthened across the board

Ive reservations about Matete and Tutu, both had injury plagued last few seasons. Not sure Evatts actually concerned, as he started by signing a goalie with a broken leg! If they keep fit and injury free, they will be fantastic signings, all the rest look very decent signings.

Think it's also worth saying we've got every kind of player in there and especially that bite and shithousery that we've all been crying for.

Johnston returning as almost a new signing, with Thomason, Dempsey, Charles, then the likes of Schon, Matete, Mcatee, Forino, Arfield, Iredale in particular who all have great pedigree but also a lot of bite about them.

I'm praying this can get us over the curse of the derby games and the bigger/physical matches now.

Whilst we now have great strength in depth

I really don't want it tested in the new year with fa cup and EFL trophy run

Especially with the international rescheduling

Try and get a plum tie in the carabao cup this side of Christmas but that will do me this season

Wouldn't mind winning one of the cups though.. 😃

Must admit I was finding it hard to get any enthusiasm for the start of the season, all of a sudden I’m giddy as fuck for Saturday

Aye. Was feeling very similar to you. Nice to have the buzz back. Don't want to jinx it yet, but can't fault Evatt for the players he's brought in. Think the fans are ready to back them again after the Wembley fiasco.

Might sound bonkers, but I'd still love to get someone like Luke McCowan in the middle. Might not be affordable now, but he would be an excellent L1 player and can carry his team through and pick them up when playing shite. Would be an ideal captain with time.

Got a great squad either way. Now it's up to Evatt to learn from his mistakes and be willing to be more flexible. Got to be better in the games where the other team are laying into us and bang up for it. There will be a lot of those this year.

Treat every game like a cup final and harness the anger and disappointment from Wembley. I've gone from thinking we'd be pushing for the playoffs to thinking we could be in the automatics come May.

Does this mean there's still interest in the two Scottish players? I see Kilmarnock drew at home to Tromso in their first leg thanks to a 92 min equaliser.

Evatt was talking again about not rushing Johnston back, but when he does start playing regularly we'll have an excellent back 3 and we've yet to see how Chris Forino performs.

Starting top 3 has to be Collins, McAtee and Dion surely?

But getting the balance of the middle 4 right is the tricky bit for me.

Evatt has loads of different skillsets to choose from and there are physical games when you'd want the likes of George, Mateta, Tutu and Dempsey in the trenches rather than JDC, Sheehan, Schon etc.

Getting that midfield balance right on a game by game basis is where it's going to be won or lost I reckon.

How much do you think we have spent then overall so far in this window? I know they're hard to say due to undisclosed fees.

From what I've gathered on our paid transfers, rough estimates are:

Osei-Tutu- 700k

Lolos- 500k

Schon - 1 mil

McAtee- 1.2 mil

Roughly around 3.5 million?

Forino?

Apologies didn't think he was a free but just checked.

Is there any source to the amount we have paid for Mctee ? A million pound seems a bit much when you look at is record a half decent season last season and nothing else of note

But £250k of that was on receipt of his 1st England cap.

Not a chance anyone made that deal. It’s like saying you can have it when he’s got his first unicorn
