Not sure what that's based on.  5 from open play upto January, he was going to get double that in 4 months? He couldn't score any for Huddersfield but might have got 10 in a different shirt.

And if he's playing, one of Collins and McAtee are on the bench, so their (half decent) goal returns are reduced.  

I'm not disputing we needed a 3rd striker, it was ridiculous that we had to rely on the same 2 game after game, but the failure was not signing someone better than Charles.

Etete was a never a replacement for dion. Totally different type of player on a short term loan. They were looking at him regardless of dion being sold or not. 

We could replace him with half of that. Easily. Hes never a captain either. Part of a team that failed twice. Take the 1.2 and improve the team

We replaced Dion with Etete 

Neither went on to score any goals yet we got 750k richer 

Could say that's a good deal 

And Etete is a palindrome in a players name and I like that

Obviously, we all have views, but clubs themselves (not just one) aren't daft, and as such, when interest develops, it suggests the player is better than being credited for. 

We all knew Dion's head had gone and we were well rid, Huddersfield felt different, thanks for the 750k though

I'm not saying GT is shit or anything, I just don't think he's been that good for us or will make us better this season, given our options

if someone else thinks they see potential in him they are welcome to give him a go if they want to give us £1m+, then we can spend it on a position where we are lacking

Correct. It was the next game against Stockport that we created loads of chances again and lost 1 nil. Point still stands.

It was in fact the Rotherham at home game....Bristol, Stockport and Rotherham killed us losing all three of those 

Creating numerous chances in all three games, but that is what you get not having a number nine in your team

 

I suppose we all have our own views which is fair enough. For all his faults, I was disappointed that we let a goalscorer leave without replacing him. It’s a bit like Collins, whilst I’m not saying he was a goalscorer and could be frustrating as hell, he did have that something about him that could change a game and I don’t feel like he’s been replaced with equal quality from what I’ve seen so far. 
 

More than happy to give the news lads a chance, that’s not in question however as some have already said there isn’t a signing we’ve made so far that has proven pedigree at this level or above that makes me think we’ll be any stronger than our 8th placed finish last year.

If selling Thomason allows us the funds for a competent striker it’s a no brainer.

I think Dalby is decent but he's no target man. 

Ollie Palmer kept Dalby out of our team for the majority of games and for us at least Palmer was a real step up in quality in the target man role and in general.

So if you don't rate Palmer (not many opposition fans do) then, well you know..
