We've just won promotion using a gaggle of players nobody else wanted, littered with injury plagued loanees and players that were cast as cart horses, one trick ponies and generally weak as piss.

No i wanted Jatta from Notts County. I may have said if he was the clubs main Target they should pay the extra to get him

I had no clue who Johnny Kenny was.

Forwards are hit and miss Ballard was shite last year at Blackpool, this season he is setting this league on fire at Orient.

Taylor was player of the season at Wigan yet is doing nothing this season at Blackpool. Fletcher cannot stop scoring but in the past he has been poor.

Not many forwards do it year on year so whoever we sign it will be a big gamble

Add Joe Taylor and Dion Charles to the list of L1 strikers who've gone from hero to zero.

Alfie May not exactly banging them in any more either (not the best year in the transfer market for Huddersfield!).

That's one reason I'd not necessarily agree with your "if that's the club's main target they should pay the extra and get him".  That's how we ended up spending millions on Vic, McAtee, Randall, Schon etc.  This month's "main target" is next season's high earning player we can't shift that the new manager doesn't want or that doesn't fit into the new formation.

Reading that Olaofe may be available after Charlton signed Lyndon Dykes. This guy was right handful last season, I'd be all over this

Yes, he looked quality against us and not bad against others from what I saw.

Seems to be rumours of Hardie to Brizzle, Pompey and Preston now.

Wait till he hears he could be playing Burton and Wimbledon next week, that should clinch it

With Celtic, who handed Kenny a contract and slapped a big price tag on him as soon as we started sniffing around, the expectations of fans is even more unrealistic than ours - after all they play in Europe, play at a higher level and have a huge history including being the champions of Europe so no wonder some idiots slag Kenny off when he has a blip in form.

He is so much better than what we have plus he’s only 22 and if we’d picked him up for the lowball offer we made it would have been an absolute steal.

you're going on like you've scouted him and watched every ball he's kicked

he's no better than what we have ffs and applied his trade in the irish version of the north west counties

get your meds down ya

what? be bang average? :D

I always thought Dalby was never going to be the answer, he has never done it at this level. Wrexham fans agreed at the time. We got very lucky with Burstow hitting the ground running at the start of the season, the lad just needs one to go in off his arse. His effort levels are great, just doesn't always have the best touch

From what we've seen, its a mystery how Burstow and Forss ever had fairly regular championship games.  If and when we go up we won't be going anywhere near that standard of player, and if we don't go up we still need better.

Fair enough - you clearly know more about what I’ve seen than I do.

Hard ball to get the price up.

Yeah, it seems it might be

Iles reported shortly after I posted that the one club's made an offer

Depends on what the offer is.

Clubs can put offers in but if they don't match the value the potential selling club has on the player then said player is going nowhere.

According to Wycombe website they have matched the offer for Morley plus add ons also Oxford now interested.

In which case they are effectively playing hard ball.

Going public and saying he's going nowhere means naff all in reality.

We all know everyone of our players is available if the money is right.

And if Morley wants to go snd it looks like the club are playing hard ball and he put in transfer request then we don’t have to pay him is slice with being under contract

True.

We'll see what the score is if he does stick in a request, assuming we turn down the bids.

Fwiw, I think he's off.

With Forss and Cessoko out we’ll probably need good money from Morley to afford  a striker

His slice of what?

Unless specifically part of his contract (which I highly doubt it is), him handing in a transfer request doesn’t really mean anything other than the club knowing he wants to leave.

It generally means the player forgoes bonuses, or at least used to
