We've just won promotion using a gaggle of players nobody else wanted, littered with injury plagued loanees and players that were cast as cart horses, one trick ponies and generally weak as piss.

  • Like when we went up from league 2, we needed tried and tested players from that specific division/level to deal with the task in hand. Doyle and Sarcs etc. We need exactly the same in this divis

Who cares, in fairness a number of us wanted additional firepower at the start of the season.

Firepower which we thought we’d got with Dalby, Burstow and Forss but it hasn’t turned out that way. Do we replace what we’ve got which costs big money or try to improve service to the ones we’ve got now? Personally I’d try to improve the service which I’d suggest would be easier and cheaper. I wouldn’t be averse to signing a proven goal scorer but are there any available that we can afford?

Now that would be a cracking signing, Sam’s a top player and a top guy, he’d fit in well.

Burstow isn't ours and isnt in great form, neither is Forss and he's crocked.

I reckon we categorically do need another striker.

If he does end up here, I reckon he scores on his debut, and everyone loves him.

His injury record was shit when we signed him.

Maybe that’s what’s prompted the rumoured offer for Nombe. Be sad for Forss but of the two Sam would be first every time.

I always thought Dalby was never going to be the answer, he has never done it at this level. Wrexham fans agreed at the time. We got very lucky with Burstow hitting the ground running at the start of the season, the lad just needs one to go in off his arse. His effort levels are great, just doesn't always have the best touch

If that's true, get it done today - in the squad for tomorrow.

And these are largely all players nobody has seen too much of anyway. I don't think it's idiotic that a fan was excited about signing Kenny when he was highly rated and heavily touted as our top target.

If in actual fact he's shite, so what? People are wrong all the time when judging players off what little we know about them. You'd think Xavi Simons would be forcing his way into Tuchel's plans the way folk talked about him early in the season.

Similarly, we need a striker and so I'd be excited if we signed Sam Nombe. But I've never watched him play so he could easily be shite.

Just based off us going to two up top, we need at least one more option. Then if you consider Forss being out we deffo need another forward. Dalby, Mcatee, Burstow and .....whoever should be enough.

No i wanted Jatta from Notts County. I may have said if he was the clubs main Target they should pay the extra to get him

I had no clue who Johnny Kenny was.

Forwards are hit and miss Ballard was shite last year at Blackpool, this season he is setting this league on fire at Orient.

Taylor was player of the season at Wigan yet is doing nothing this season at Blackpool. Fletcher cannot stop scoring but in the past he has been poor.

Not many forwards do it year on year so whoever we sign it will be a big gamble

It's not just forwards

Cogley was team of the year two years ago but couldn't get a game for us recently despite starting well

You just need to find the right mix for one season to get out of it

Cogley has been no better than ok, good going forward but could not defend...Christie is not the answer and i cannot see him beyond the summer SS has a major re-build but i guess he is trying not to have a repeat of last season when we had 8/10 on the beach once the transfer window was shut.......I can see that repeating

A thing said on here the other week.

There's a hell of a lot of pressure for all concerned.

Rightly or wrongly they know what they’re signing up for. The majority if not all of their welcome videos talk about the size of the club, its aims and expectations. So it’s nothing new to them. Big club mentality. If you can’t shit get off the pot

I still can't get my head around that. We literally switched off whilst in the top 6.

I suspect there has been some unrest around the camp and with a few going out this has probably helped to sort it out. We need a settled team, not the bingo machine. A couple wins under our belt again and we'll be flying. Suppose we've been saying that all season though...

I'm still far from convinced that the change in 'system' was/is the answer. We had a lot of the ball at Wigan and Stevenage but hardly looked that threatening passing it around in our own half. I'd like to see three in the middle without the '10' with the two wingers both on their natural sides. Dubbery and Gale have pace to burn. The ball needs to go through the lines forward and quicker with early balls coming in to the box. It really isn't that difficult. We seem content to fuck around it with it at the back almost playing our way into trouble half the time.

We have been too reliant on loan signings and running down contracts last season and this....Fact is very few players have the clubs best interests at heart. Player A  contract runs out in May he instructs his agent to find him a club on the 1st January. His agent tells him he has got him a two year deal, the agent then tells him he needs to be clear of injury or the club will walk away what do you think player A will do yes look after himself until the deal is signed.......it goes on up and down the land. You only have to watch one or two podcasts to have your eyes opened.

Aye there was that. Shame I wanted to see what he could do in a front 2, as let’s be honest he didn’t achieve much else where. We move on.

And presumably they all would consider themselves capable of playing higher than L1 at some point in their careers. Not many small clubs with no expectations in the leagues above.

With Celtic, who handed Kenny a contract and slapped a big price tag on him as soon as we started sniffing around, the expectations of fans is even more unrealistic than ours - after all they play in Europe, play at a higher level and have a huge history including being the champions of Europe so no wonder some idiots slag Kenny off when he has a blip in form.

He is so much better than what we have plus he’s only 22 and if we’d picked him up for the lowball offer we made it would have been an absolute steal.
