Morley impressed me in his early days. However I think his progression has stalled. He can pick out the odd great pass and has occasionally shown to have a potent shot. But he reraly gets forward, often passing sideways. He can't tackle and isn't effectively fast or strong. That said he was cheap and we would sell him at a profit.

Cause for concern is the form of Simons and erahahan, neither of whom have impressed in the past few months. But neither has the team in general.

Ethan definitely needs to improve. Started off looking great but he looks way off it recently. Simons has looked better in this new formation.

He was unfortunate with the timing of his injury I thought, EE and Simons together was looking like a formidable partnership.

Or is it the case cutting the squad numbers and wage bill and no new signings this window?

And still the squad hasn’t been weakened yet. Cissoko next hopefully .

Unless Morley wants to go, have we got enough cover in midfield to let him go.

folk were clamouring for yon lad from the yoof to get a game in midfield ahead of the wiggin match.

perhaps SS sees the yoof/b team as capable for emergency cover should we need it.

Looked at one stage like we might make a decent profit off him, so it's a shame we/he have tanked his value again in the past year.

Good player for us overall so I wish him well. I also reckon I've seen enough of him to see that he's not going to take us forward, so we might as well try and find someone who can.

I'm fine with selling Morley as long as the money generated is invested back in to the squad to improve weaker areas.

Like crossing the ball?

Naeem Mohammed is the latest rumour

free agent we have been linked with before. Ghanaian winger previously played in Sweden..

and let’s all leave the melodramatics around how the window has been for us until next Monday eh when it actually shuts…

It's looking likely that Morley is going, Sheehan and Simmons seem to be first choice, Dempsey imo is better as a sub, he's had his share of injuries and I don't think we can rely on him too much, he's still a great asset though. I am pretty disappointed with Erhahon, he was Lincoln's star player and after reading their forum, most fans were gutted he was leaving. We definietaly need to replace Morley if we're to push for promotion this season.

Do we really need another bloody winger !

Also rumours cissoko could be sent back to make room..

id argue we maybe need back up / support on the right side

Out - Vic, Randall, JDC, Forrester, TSL, Miller (forgot his name already @gonzo - had to genuinely look it up)

In - Bonham, Harrington, Temple

You’ve got to think that’s a net £40k off the wage bill. When you add your wage on-costs (NI etc.) that’s £2.5m a year.

Morley probably pushes that to £3m if it happens, and likely brings a fee in.

If all that means we can just add 1 more signing, spend some of it to go and get the striker that will score the goals to send us up then happy days! Thanks but bye Aaron

Not only that, if you think we may have been paying a monthly fee for TSL. So we've lost that too, and brought in a permanent keeper for nothing in Bonham. (I don't recall a transfer fee?)

If cissoko is going back then fine but we are desperate for a striker who can at least reach double figures.

that's huge money for the championship

guehi only went for 20 :D

Guehi would've been £0 in 4 months.

... You're right though, £19m for a 2nd division club to spend on a player is just bonkers.

Mental fee for a 19 year old with fuck all games under his belt in a weak league

I'm sure it's not for the want of trying, but It's not quite as simple as 'let's judge the window at the end of it'. The season is still happening around us. We've played five league games in January and won one. There are three more before the window closes which count just as much as the ones in February and beyond.

So if we have a target who the gaffer feels would improve us but it’s complexed and could be a bit of a domino effect in terms of X moving here then Y moving there before you get Z and it may take longer, should we swerve that and go for option 3 of 4 on the list so we’ve got them in for the games going on around us?

it’s not just about having people in it’s also about the quality they bring because that will have an influence on the impact they make

personally I would rather have the quality from Feb onwards than the numbers for the next few games..
