We've just won promotion using a gaggle of players nobody else wanted, littered with injury plagued loanees and players that were cast as cart horses, one trick ponies and generally weak as piss.

  • Like when we went up from league 2, we needed tried and tested players from that specific division/level to deal with the task in hand. Doyle and Sarcs etc. We need exactly the same in this divis

Sheehan to Cardiff; sure they were linked with him last summer.

Sheehan rumours might not be too far off the mark, i heard we've looked at some bloke called Longstaff from Canada, who wants to come back to England.

He's 5'7, should be perfect.

Alan Thompsons Cousin

We can't be selling our best player to a direct promotion rival halfway through the season.

Never happen in a million years. The tennis balls would be out.

We should be all over this and Olaofe if they want to go up.

I watch Toronto FC a fair bit. Longstaff was utter pants. I'd pass.

With Cardiff already pretty much nailed on for promotion, the Welsh connection, Sheehans desire to go to the World Cup and the fact that he’s starting to get on a bit it might not be a bad time for us to start thinking about the future ourselves and cash in on him IF, and only if, they come in with a huge offer AND we’ve got good players lined up to come in this window.

Both ACD and Forss out for 2-3 months we need some reinforcements upon front!

I'd sell him for a decent sum, as i dont think he'd be good enough for the Championship, too many compromises.

We have to get there first though.

If keeping him helps us achieve that then he probably should stay.

As above though, if a big offer came in and an alternative could be found, then it may be good business.

I suspect he won't go anywhere.

Schon and CMG back in the fold? 🤣

Massively thin

Currently got 1 RB, 1 right winger, 1 LB (because Taylor has played himself out), 1 left winger (so has Cissoko) and no effective number 10…

questions marks on the GK fitness

They'll surely go back to parent clubs?

Might go back for rehab but if there’s enough time in the fixture list for them to return before the season ends and potential play offs we’ll keep them

People call us thin but tbh we're approaching normalish levels for a league 1 club, would Conway have burst onto the scene without Taylors injury preseason, probably but maybe not.

Just sod's law really.

ACD wasn't injured on Saturday morning so now we've got to look for replacements - on top of the players we're currently after - AND still pay for him.

EFL scheduling and how they've backloaded the fixtures has a lot to do with this but it's not an excuse. 9 games in January and a transfer window makes things very difficult.

But still, Fergal and Jimmy out as is being screamed over on X...

Been a recurring fear of mine him getting injured.

I know the injury wasn’t a direct correlation to the challenge on Saturday but a mixture of like you say, fixture congestion, work load, how he’s been identified by opposition teams and playing pretty much every minute of every game without any suitable support, I felt it was only a matter of when rather than if

Desperately

we needed It anyway. ACD hasn’t been at his best lately, but he’s a great talent. Thats a huge loss for me

Yes but they might decide not to risk playing him in a couple of games at the end of the season and give him the whole summer for it to repair that would be the smart move from a Brighton point of view why risk him

Think it depends on the recall options in the agreement. I think there’s a broad agreement that if it’s season ending players go back. However in these instances who knows..

if it had occurred in sept there would be no question he would remain
