The lad that rumour about wasn't in the world cup squad, played on loan in Switzerland last year, gone quiet that one though. Think he had or has a few teams to choose from to go to on loan again.

As soon as one of Stephenson or the Spanish chap gets injured, we are still short on the right, bearing in mind we've lost Tutu, ACD, Apter, Cissoko, CBT and even Kenny, Burstow and Dempsey as wide options. We are still way short in wide areas and if SS could get ACD on loan I'm sure he would.

From the highlights above it is stretching it to call him a defender

The delay is more to do with players returning from the World Cup (and a week or two rest following it) and PL clubs (and perhaps Celtic), returning from the money earning tours abroad, doing their transfer business and then eventually deciding on who they will sell or go out on loan,

It's around that figure but paid twice yearly, we also get a monthly basic award from the EFL which is greatly increased due to promotion.

We should be able to bring in several millions' worth of talent for relatively low outlay, definitely a change in tack to the bargain bin business done so far this summer.

Lots of talk about (lack of) wingers, but no mention of Dong. No idea if he’ll be up to it, but he is a new signing from overseas and his highlights reel suggests he’s comfortable on either wing.

I'd guess he does too, but a smaller sample size is much more likely to skew that. Which is why David Nugent is the England team's greatest ever striker.

ACD had 9 goals and 13 assists, scored brilliant goals at important moments, made the team of the season and just by watching him was quite obviously a class above anyone at the club (possibly in the league) last season. The fact he performed at that level across more games should be in his favour rather than work against him. If Mason Burstow had gone back to Hull in November, people's opinions of him now would be a lot different than they are now.

If someone offered Celtic £5m for Kenny I think I know what they'd say (after they'd stopped laughing).

Take your point re sample size, but I do think there was sufficient evidence to suggest Kenny would have scored plenty more given a longer run of games.

He was also happy to run behind and set up chances for others.

A fuller season would have given him a platform like ACD and maybe we'd all think he would be worth a few million too.

Back to then original question though, and at the moment, Kenny would be the one I'd choose. Specifically because we need another striker.

In terms of goals crested, rather than scored, I'd guess the wingers created more when going on the outside and putting balls across the box.

It wouldn't surprise me to see guys on their "correct" side, at least some of the time.

May be wing backs on occasions.

Reading the BN, and it seems Ola is a wing back/wide man.

Doesn't describe him as a full back, so maybe the plan is to play him ahead of Stephenson.

There's a perfectly viable explanation why I left Dong out when discussing our winger options.

I completely forgot we'd signed him.

For me it depends on if we have them back on loan or if we've bought them.

In my opinion (which doesn't count for much, if anything) I believe ACD will go further in the game than Kenny and therefore bring about a much better fee when we sell him on.

On the other hand if it is only a loan I would go for Kenny as I reckon he would have benefit us more in the short term in that the opposition would not focus as much on him as being a 'game changer' as they would on Amario and thus allow him that much more leeway on the pitch.

Also we need to score goals to survive and although ACD can and would score the occasional worldies, I reckon Kenny would score more even if that meant 'tap-ins' or the ball hitting the back of his head and going in type goals.

And fwiw I don't think we have any chance in signing Amario but probably do have half a chance with Kenny.

We won’t be playing Stephenson and Larrazabal together any more than we’ll play Conway and Famewo together. It’s two players for each position but only one will play at a time. The only way they’ll play in the same game is as subs later on. They’ve been signed for specific positions not as Jacks of all trades.
