As amazing as those playoffs were, and the lifetime of memories it’ll provide, the reality is we never properly took off last year. And we had plenty of flaws.

We’ve all got our opinions but I trust Schuey knows who’s capable of stepping up & who isn’t. Still plenty of work to do & we won’t get everyone we’re after.

Just reading the thread earlier & was reminded we won’t be playing Everton under 23s again. Made my day & it’s not even 7am 😄

Good player Sam but if that’s true then we need to get him in quick because he hasn’t featured in pre season so far for the Millers and will need some game time. They need him gone before they can bring in a replacement so a cheeky offer might do it?

Look at Thomasson, plenty were happy to see him go and thought L1 was his ceiling (non league for some eh @Horwich 😂)

I'd be surprised if we managed to start the season with a set of championship proven and prolific forwards

fact that he's got eredivise, bundesliga and 3 seasons of championship in the last 4 suggests he's at the very least an upgrade

Given we currently have a distinct lack of forwards not hard to be a slight upgrade tbf.

Anyway, guys played the equivilent minutes to about 60-65 full games.. (6000 mins pitch time / 95 min game ave

So 60 games 15 goals 8 assists..

That's not bad for a winger tbh

Prolific goal scorers are like gold dust I think we may have to have a punt on an unknown player from Europe and hope it works out for us , sometimes it's the way you play for a player to fit in, but everyone is after that elusive 20 goal a season player

Wareham has a real feel of a one season wonder imo. Think he scored 4 times in 40 for Reading in season before last.

Jatta has also been mentioned, only seen him a couple of times and he just looks very awkward. Couple of good seasons scoring though.

At the end of the day we can not afford to buy ‘guaranteed goals’ so whoever comes in there will be an element of risk.

Maybe.

Even SS has acknowledged we’re well short at the moment in forward positions.

However we’re arguably stronger in midfield and defence - the hope being that those we’ve brought in can do a better job in the Championship than those we’ve let go.

But I don’t think we need to pedal negative sound bites like this, especially when there’s 3 weeks to go before the season starts and we know they are busy behind the scenes trying to recruit, and we are well aware (or should be) that these signings we are waiting for were going to be further down the transfer window.
