We've just won promotion using a gaggle of players nobody else wanted, littered with injury plagued loanees and players that were cast as cart horses, one trick ponies and generally weak as piss.

  • Like when we went up from league 2, we needed tried and tested players from that specific division/level to deal with the task in hand. Doyle and Sarcs etc. We need exactly the same in this divis

There is no higher championship club than BWFC.

When you realise this you'll get on better here.

Well obvs.

But in reality, you are currenlty a basket case of a club.

Not sure its a place to send a lad to develop.

Think he’d be better coming to us and playing 30 plus games than going to derby et al and playing 10 if he’s lucky

If thats the case then yes absolutely.

Some of our lot want him to play for us this coming season.

He enjoyed his stay last year and improved a great deal.

We are exactly the same as we were then.

Going off what we saw last season, Robinson is nowhere near Premier league standard.

He's a full back who can't defend & even though he did improve a bit, some people got over excited about him because he can run quite fast.

Nowhere near good enough for the PL yet. especially for a club who will now definitely be in the Top 6 because of the money they have spent and got the manager they always wanted...

Improved over the season but when his best asset is going forward and even that is bang average then clubs like us is where he should be signing. He wouldnt get a sniff at the top 5 or 6 clubs in our league

All depends if we think sending a lad back to a club that has issue with paying players etc. Those things will matter when deciding his next step.

I just want him to get some good game time.

I don't know how these things work but I imagine a loan player fees (inc wages) are covered at the outset of the deal.

However, the fact remains he will play games and develop here as shown last season.

I mean more in terms of him being around a group of players striking and causing problems.

He can stay at Everton for me !

KA - 2 six figure bids have been made for strikers and they have been left there, we are now widening our search..

not met the asking price and wont be increasing them. Waiting for the clubs to fold... Not happening

edit: he probably means 7 figure bids but you get the jist

Which basket case club signs a player who hasn't scored or had an assist since January for 50 million? .

I doubt we have made a seven figure bid.

500-600 K seems top of our budget (being optimistic).

My heads gone here counting the zeros

yes 6 figures.

regardless, clearly not meeting the valuations. Understand bradford want £750k for Wyke so we obviously need the extra couple of hundred grand in the coffers

Two bids starting with the number six  :glare:

I don't believe we'd sign a player for money who is out injured. Bradford will of course claim its a minor injury, but I can't imagine a club with as little money as we have risking it. What if it gets worse and you've sunk your resources into a player who isn't fit?

I don't see Ken wanting to take that risk personally.

Beevers bid rejected by sounds of it aswell.

Such a shame we don’t have someone in to play centre back as his fee could pay for a striker and we’d be enternally better off

Not sure, because we have not paid £50 million.

I would think Beevers could still be sacrificed if we can get a cheaper option in place.

well, hes back in light training and forecast to be out for a month or so? So, in the grand scheme of a 2/3 year deal its nothing.

i doubt we would walk away from a deal for such a low level injury. Then, take on a player we initially didn't want out of desperation. Particularly since PP has stated he wants 2 strikers..

We value a player, they value the player. if it doesnt match up we walk away. A month injury in pre season wont widen those valuations by a lot. If anything.

And considering Ken refers to the valuations rather than anything else id back thats the reason over your assumption

KA saying we've bid for 2 different strikers and we won't be increasing our bids, probably Wyke & Garner I'd imagine.

It'll be a last minute trolley dash to land Magennis now

I think the board has been way too laid-back over this summer.

We are looking set to finish 24th as it stands.

Even if we make the 6/7 signings we need.

How can we expect them to all be match-fit, and settled into the squad, and allowing Parky to know what his best XI is, all within the mater of 8 days before WBA away?

The answer is we simply can’t. Absolute shocking preparation by the board.

We have been here before even in the early days with Sam we had hardly any squad on the pre season tour to Denmark and think we lost out in the play offs that season I remember signing Isaiah Rankin the night before one season opener and he scored, we are a low budget club always have been and always will be. Get used to it.

Correction: We won the play-offs that year!
