We've just won promotion using a gaggle of players nobody else wanted, littered with injury plagued loanees and players that were cast as cart horses, one trick ponies and generally weak as piss.

  • Like when we went up from league 2, we needed tried and tested players from that specific division/level to deal with the task in hand. Doyle and Sarcs etc. We need exactly the same in this divis

I’d prefer to keep Lowe than get Spearing back

To be expected. Evatt will have his own people

Ah right, I vaguely remember the name from back when he was a player

Didnt know he was a coach

Or from Farnworth as wiki just told me

Does he fit into this new style of play? Crucial area of the field for that sort of game

Born Farnworth probably means Townley's.

He's an Astley Bridge fella. Went to Holy Infants and Thornleigh.

He’s a mate of our Cricket Club Chairman. You can tell where he’d played/coached because the Chairman used hand-me down training clothing for working around the club. Latest we’re Rotherham and Wigan.

Definitely and he’s cover for right back.

I doubt we will be able to afford lowe

But if its 3 at the back, he could be ideal as one of them

I'd like to see Jason Lowe and Remi Matthews signed up to go with what we've already got.

The rest can be "Brand Evatt" signings for me, he'll want to put his own stamp on the team.

I'm not sure Lowe can fit into a side that plays quick pass and move.

He's a steady player, but I have my doubts about if he has it in his locker to play the kind of football required.

Matthews can also go for me. Seems a really nice bloke but his goalkeeping ability won't be missed.

I'd like to see Matthews back but couldn't care either way about Lowe

Easily good enough for League 2 Shirley?

Good enough for the league, of course.

But it's not that simple. He has to be able to play football the "Evatt way". I'm not sure he can.

Yep. Though he is capable of passing it backwards quickly.

Kinnel our new manager still needs someone to tidy things up around the back four & as we won’t have Franz  Beckanbaur & Rudi Kroll types at centreback we still need Lowe or equivalent

Neutral on Matthews can see him fckg up dribbling the ball out though. As a stopper he’s decent.

Indeed. Would prefer an equivalent. Who can pass it forward too.

So we need a ball playing goalkeeper now?

Can I just remind everybody we're in the fucking 4th division.

Tbf to Lowe, I'm not sure how easy it has ever been for him to find a forward pass as no fucker ever wanted the ball.

It's tough to tell just how shit our players have been for the last few years given there is no evidence that any coaching ever took place.

It's gonna be total football Michael. Any player can play in any position. I expect whoever our goalkeeper is to score and assist at least 5 goals.
