True, but neither could Gordon or Brockbank and they are now the back ups for John and Jones.  Miller was back up for Doyle and for the next couple of months we arguably don't have one.  We need better than Miller for league one, I agree.  Just not sure who that is.  It'll be sorted, its just idle chat.

He looked like he could score a goal no doubt but his workrate off the ball and closing down is what makes me think why IE didn’t keep him

Amaechi, Aimson & Bakoyoko will all be back with us before too long, Kachunga should hopefully be somewhere approaching match fit in the same time frame.

We are far from thin on the ground options wise with a full squad

Hope they are back and firing in time for October 16 when we play those silly cunts from Wigan.

Decent guy but if we were SO desperate we could recall Politic who's not yet got 1 minute on for Port Vale.

Why would he get a go for us if PV dont think hes ready, either

Also do we know he can be re-called??

What I said was .... "IF .... we were SO desperate (as to consider borrowing Miller from Natwich Town) then recalling Politic would be a better option".

I'm not sure that's a controversial position to take.

Obviously I don't know but it can usually be done. It's not like Vale have built their season around him.

Politic isn’t ready but he’s rated by IE, hence the loan but a contract offand the lack of minutes at PV

Big injury to return from, his fitness and strength will be nowhere near L1 level but he’s training with a L2 side to get his fitness up and minutes under his belt, can’t rush him

We’re going to need them back for sure even then they have stronger squad than we do.

aye I said this weeks back

Maybe the plan was for him to be ready from the start but it’s just taking a little longer, hopefully he’s back upto speed for the 22/23 season

Apologies if mentioned elsewhere, just noticed Kioso has gone to MK Dons on loan.

Squad looks fine for mid table when everyone's fit, but they aren't.  I'm a bit concerned about the next 10 or so league games, I know Delf scored last night but his performance only increased thoughts that he's struggling, couldn't get into the game at all.  Kachunga clearly not making an impact yet and anyway is more of a wide player than striker.

Squad looks mid table.  How have you come to that conclusion?

We need to be realistic. We’ve not got a massive war chest but do have a few younger lads who seem like they might make it.

Farm them out on loan, they either come back ready or we move on.

It wasn't meant to be a controversial comment.  Mid table in league one would be a great achievement for a newly promoted team.  We might finish top 6, we might finish bottom 6, its hard to tell as every game is so close, as others have said we could have lost all 5 or won all 5.  My instinct is a lack of goalscorers will hold us back, the great thing is nobody knows how it will pan out in the next 41 games.

Complete Nonsense statement

Miller is playing where? Nantwich FFS. We have moved on Johnny just as we moved on from your heroes Delaney & Darcy

Darcy given a new contract, not quite moved on.

It probably depends on your definition of mid table, it covers quite a lot of positions in a league with as many clubs as this one.

I'd have the quality of our squad as top half rather than mid-table, with us being capable of finshing anywhere from 5th to about 12th.

Our best starting eleven is a good one, but our strength in depth is where in my opinion we fall short. At least until January, I think we'll have to rely on being lucky with injuries.

Think people need to realise most players in our squad have reached their limit L1 max  probably 2/3 who could play any higher

some Good additions and yes mid table is about right maybe a cheeky play off spot who knows

Our strength last year was clean sheets, to get up this league that’s what we’ll need to do again if we want to get promoted. IMO we are far too open to be able to achieve anything other than mid table , because we will concede too much as it stands, and I think that’s because we have two attacking Midfielders in Sarc and Sheehan, that stretches us and exposes us a bit more than our back line is used to.

That's it for me. We've been up and down like a brides nighty the last few years. Need a couple of years at this level now to slowly build for the championship.

Not a hope in hell most of this squad is good enough for a higher division

Top half for me would be an excellent achievement given where we have come from and what we have spent with the resources available.

we should have some good wins this season, but some defeats - we ain’t going to win every week.

a couple of years in this division is no shame and so long as we keep going forwards - that is and has got to be the right and only way.

Exactly but it’s hard to drop Sarc or Sheehan; we are light in defensive midfield.

They can’t be dropped at the moment I agree

Our biggest concern atm is the poor form of Santos - he has lost confidence and can’t pass a ball over 10 metres at the moment. Baptiste experience is missing as well and not sure Johnson is helping with Santos

He’s not looked himself but I don’t think he’s fully fit , Covid and a foot injury won’t have helped

He's definitely not fully fit, he's looked a bit one paced so far this season. Once he's up to full speed we will look a lot steadier.
