We've just won promotion using a gaggle of players nobody else wanted, littered with injury plagued loanees and players that were cast as cart horses, one trick ponies and generally weak as piss.

Typo? - says 342k for me.

The 75k and 125k for Morley and Dempsey were just rumours I heard, no idea how accurate they are.

Ā

I'm 'looking forward' to seeing who our first player sale for money is. Don't think we'll see it until this time next year however.

Sorry typo yes 342k. Forgot to mention Politic he was our first sale for money ,about 50k was it?Ā

Ah yeah, totally forgot about that to be fair.

I guess what I really mean is - the first transfer that Evatt has brought in and we've sold on for profit then.

If we can make 10m from Clough/Madine/Holding during the Anderson shitshow then surely we can better that over the next few years with the proper ownership and positive football we play now.

It will be interesting to see where Fossey ends up, I don't personally see him being a championship level player.Ā  Much of the good he did for us was down to his pace, which was great for us, but helped greatly by the lack of pace in Lge 1.Ā  In games when he was up against a full back that matched him, I can remember being underwhelmed by his play, lacking the quality to beat a man or to get a quality pass/cross in, often turning back, unlike Sadlier who could beat his man.Ā  In the championship I'd expect him to be found out against quicker full backs, but good luck to him, unless its at Wigan obviously.Ā  But if its Wigan I'd be encouraged that they are signing players unproven at that level.

Sounds like you're desperately finding reasons to put him down.Ā  If you think Sadlier is a better option at RWB then you're officially off your trolley.

If we don't sign him and he ends up at a Championship club then fine, we move on.Ā  But let's not pretend he wasn't very, very good for us last season.Ā  Prior to his injury, if there was anyone playing for us who looked like they'd be able to step up to Championship level then it was him.

Ā

Jones and Fossey together down that right side were a tremendous pairing. Sadly due to injuries and Gethin's mums medical issues we didn't see them enough.

If he's got championship clubs after him then it obvious where he's ending up. It's disappointing but the club has to find option B quickly and move on.

oh and a bit of gossip going too. Irish striker from Wolves according to Nixon… B team?

YESSS!!!!!

Ā

Ā

woop !

(And at the time of his signing, I thought it was a shocker to sign a raw 19 year old, who had had had a bit of a mare at Accy).

Great news.

The guy’s a loon.

And a jolly decent ā€˜keeper .

Couple more and we’ll be sortedĀ

Aye, a replacement for Fossey and an upgrade on Williams and I think we're done.

Conor Carty apparently, recently released from Wolves. Scored goals at youth level.

Apart from the fact that he provides much needed continuity from the end of last season, it's a very good sign that Manchester City are willing to send players our way - especially England U21's. Says a lot about how our set up is progressing as a whole. Fucking brilliant news.

I'd like a few more than that myself.Ā

Geth needs a backup at RCB.

Think we could do with 2 RWBs if Isgrove's injury keeps him out.Ā

An upgrade on Aimson wouldn't be amiss.Ā

I imagine we'll bring in another Amaechi type as well to give us the freedom to change system.Ā

And a possible competition for the MJ role as you say.Ā

The only thing we’re missing is pace, Fossey showed how dangerous we can be with it.Ā

Aimson & johnston got some unfair criticism at times both did well while santos was out, yes made errors but do for meĀ

Pretty happy with this depth as things stand.

We're a bit top heavy with 6 players for 2 striker slots, but rather that than have no options.

Compare that to 5 centre backs between 3 centreback spots. Especially when Iredale/Johnston/Jones may have to cover wingback if necessary. Definitely need one more centreback unless MJ can cover it. And a specialist RWB should also be on the cards.

2 more signings for me and I'm happy. Bonus if we loan out Thomason and bring someone a bit more competitive in for his midfield spot.

Ā

Really pleased he’s back. Big cog in starting august rather than 2nd half of season.

Not sure where you got that from, Sadlier is nowhere near being a wing back.Ā  He just looks better at beating a man than Fossey, for me.Ā  I enjoyed watching Fossey play for us, and he's a good character, but that applies to loads of other players in this squad too. He didn't stand out to me any more than a lot of our other attacking players but we all see things differently.Ā  I stand by that his main quality is pace, which is fantastic, but only really works if the opposition don't match it.
