Are you just basing it on history, success and status and not crowds (actual/potential)?  I'm only asking as attendances are often the first thing mentioned in such discussions.  I'd agree with all the above if not including crowds, and add Sheff Wed.

Interesting point, potential yes and fan base yes but not current crowd sizes.

For example Brighton get decent crowds but no way have they got the history or the success of say Preston or Burnley.

BTW , id say Sheff Wed are a bigger club than us.

It's an absolutely pointless conversation/debate, but the kind you might have in a pub when you've nothing else to talk about.

There's no definitive answer and it's all about your own personal opinion.  Who really cares though?

Just reading the BN article about Fossey.

If they've already accepted whatever we've offered, then doesn't it come down to the desire of the player himself, irrespective of if someone else offers more?

Now, if he chases bigger money elsewhere, then fair enough (not sure Preston would be offering a massive amount more than we were), but if he enjoyed his time and quite fancies coming back, then maybe he needs to tell his agent this.

I've not read the article, but they may have accepted our offer for him, but then they have to finalise the transfer on their end and are delaying that confirmation until such a time that they feel like they have all their offers on the table.

Hypothetically we may have offered 100k, and they are happy with that, but they know Preston and Wigan might offer 150k and better wages, or a better sell on bonus. Then they could cancel our offer and choose to sell to the other clubs, which Fossey can either then reject or accept. And he'd be daft to not accept it as he will get his playing time there and security of contract.

Equally they could accept our offer, wait for Preston and Wigan's offer and then say to Fossey. We ain't arsed about the extra 50k they're offering, so if you want to go to Bolton then it's your call.

£50k to them is about what they spend on giving out flags to their fans after Christmas when every game is a "must win" and they think it will help intimidate the opposition.

Did you get your vouchers for Carrs Pasties and Madri? Personally I thought that they were a lovely touch.

Charlton got a new manager, focused on playing attacking football. Don't know much about him but would rather teams played more expansive against us rather than Burton/Morecambe tactics. But if they sort themselves out they could be a dangerous team this season

Looks a dodgy appointment to me, what they don't say is a good Swindon team did not get promoted and they conceded more than any other team in the top ten.

Hopefully, I'm properly unconvinced by their owner. And despite all his ramblings of Premier League ambition they've been distinctly average. They are another big team in this league, so could do with them being rubbish again this season.

Hope you don't mind my new topic on this, thought it deserved its own thread.

Isn't tomorrow, 10 June, the first day of the Summer Transfer Window ?

So any quidtly pre-completed moves can be officially confirmed ?

Let's see if the 'Mane to Bolton' rumour has any legs.

Yes.

I think we'd have heard by now of any potential incomings where a transfer fee has been agreed, so i can't see us announcing any of those, but I think we might announce a few free transfers over next next week or so.

Wants a new challenge and doing it for his people.

'I respect the fans and team but 60 to 70 per cent of Senegalese want me to leave Liverpool? I'll do what they want,' he told reporters last week in a shameful press conference while away with Senegal on international duty.

When asked if he would prefer a move to Bayern Munich or Real Madrid, he then followed it up with: 'You know, you've got me in trouble with the Liverpool fans right now.

'Those two teams are not bad. But I'm not a fan of those teams. You know, my team is Marseille, so I would say Marseille.'
