All about opinions but I reckon we are a much better team with John than without him.

i reckon its obvious to anybody with any sense whatsoever

folk who doubt john are probably the ones who reckoned ben jackson was a better option

I think John actually contributed the highest number of assists last season.

He scored four goals too.

And that's after illness interrupted the early stages of his season.

There won't be many who better that in my opinion.

6 assists

ranked 3rd overall in the league. Playing traditional FB for half of it in a team that was in the bottom half for far too long

I was trying to be polite as I can be a bit of a cunt apparently.

However just seen W63 post he doesn't rate John. I dont need to say anymore. I rest my case

Also I suspect that those who don't rate John also doubt Santos Vale to the team. Nothing scientific to that and I won't be trolling back through morons but it's an equally baffling opinion to me.

Let’s have it right, John has his frailties. Defensively being the main one. And to be fair he looked bang average the first part of last season. Went backwards after signing his deal.

since going to wing back and not having to care so much about the defensive side he came on really well after Christmas.

there’s a player in there. Probably at the level he’s at now but far far too good for non league. But I prob wouldn’t turn down that money if we were hearing these rumours as a champ club..

I don’t rate John defensively Max, as I said in my post and clearly IE agrees with me and has said as much in signing Iredale. He doesn’t have pace and isn’t the best tackler but what he does have is his forward movement and again like IE, there will be times when that will be more important. Would I sell him for £500k, no of course not but it doesn’t mean he’s without weaknesses in certain areas, like most others in the squad.

Nobody’s slighting John Casino, just accepting that he’s better going forward than defensively. That’s not slighting him, just stating an opinion that even our manager seems to agree with. Your examples spot on, it’s horses for courses.

Glad IE recognises this as we had our bellies tickled too many times last season on shit pitches against in your face teams

i suppose once is too many, but certain games, say morecambe and burton get rolled out as though it happened regularly, yet we were as good as anybody post christmas and those 2 were in that run

fleetwood before christmas, was a diff team altogether

cant see more than 4 of them starting at ipswich

its be a big mistake to make too many changes to stop those days if it adversely affected the vast majority of games, in which we do/did very well

On a different subject, with Marlon refusing a new contract with Fulham, does anyone else think we might still see him here for the start of the season?

I cannot see it now we have signed Bradley, if he doesnt move before January then maybe.

I think because he’s not an essential now we have Bradley, IE can play a waiting game and if he doesn’t get fixed up could pick him up on the old deal terms or walk away. I still have a feeling he’ll end up here though.

What old deal terms are they then?
