Thought I'd mix it up with a bike ride t'other evening...Went arse over tit on black ice - twice.

 

The second time I somehow contrived to fly about four feet in the air feet first and landed slap bang on my lower back/arse.

 

I'm sure concrete/metalled surfaces are harder and more hurtful in the winter...

 

Anyhow, got a bruised and fucked cocy... coxy... cocx...arsebone - walking like John Merrick channelling John Wayne after a pool party at Barrymore's. Three week layoff I reckon.

 

Luckily I'm almost out of Stollen now, having given most away (sorry CWP).

Please tell me in minute detail about your workout and then tell me what protein shake you've had after. Also post a picture of a sweaty towel and then the words 'serious gains'.

Protein shake? I’m not a gym bunny.

 

Water, and no gains for me - I’m now down to 12 stone - should probably start putting some on now!

Treadmill 5k yday. Literally can't walk today. Le ft side is fucked. Can't put weight on it proper. Right side totally fine. Always seems be issued with left side. Shooting pain between hip and above knee

Might be your tendons, if you’ve not done much before they can become inflamed, plus treadmills aren’t as forgiving as other surfaces with your impact so you can do more damage over distances. Can’t say I’m a big fan.

 

If it is that you’ll need to do some weight work on your legs - nd stretches at home (filling a rucksack with books and doing squats really works for me!) if it’s one side (mine is always the left as well) you probably over pronate and if you are dominant in your right side your left leg isn’t strong enough at the moment.

 

Mind you I’m not a doctor but this happened to me all the time - and I still have to manage it.

seems a reasonable analysis. Legs are weak as fuck . Never ever do any weights or strength work. Drainpipe legs carrying a pot belly. Gonna have do as you say though if want carry on running I suppose

I'm no doctor but I'd say your left thigh is fucked.

Do weights incrementally like Crawley writes, I'd use fixed machines though rather than weighted squats.

 

Run slower, walk even, but on a much higher incline - you'll utilise more power from your glutes and will limit the shock/stress factor on ligaments and joints one gets running fast(ish) on the flat or low incline...
