April 2, 20179 yr Always gonna happen today. Biggest crowd for years. Nailed on disappointment. We didn't lose, results went our way. One less game for anyone to catch us THIS
April 2, 20179 yr Fleetwood not scored in last 4 games. Big week coming up. They have two more Os next - Oxford and Oldham.
April 2, 20179 yr Without sounding a prick, so many teams have had a big day out at our expense, glad that won't happen in the Championship, then it's our job to deal with it.
April 2, 20179 yr Great point in the end. I expected both us and Fleetwood to win so gaining an extra point than them is a bonus. Edging closer, I now reckon 83 will be enough so 2 wins and a draw. I said weeks ago having so many aways left could work in favour away from the expectation of having to win at home. Crap match, good result
April 2, 20179 yr play down the channels and keep the ball on the floorWe don't have the personnel to do that. We are set up to play with a link up target man. The question is, in the window, why did we go for a player like long when we already Clayton on the bench. We'd have been better going for a big lump as back up for Madine. Anyways , Like casino says every time we tried to play the ball on the floor, Pratley and spearing either lost it after being crowded out or spread it out wide to Morias who then chucked in to the box for nobody to get on the end of. They sat too deep for ALF or long to get in behind. They did a job on us. Edited April 2, 20179 yr by gonzo
April 2, 20179 yr They did. Caldwell's not done as well as they probably hoped he would at getting them out of it but he showed he's smart and innovative tactically.
April 2, 20179 yr I've always been surprised we let Proctor go. I know he's not a world beater but I never saw him has being much different to Madine talent wise.
April 2, 20179 yr I've always been surprised we let Proctor go. I know he's not a world beater but I never saw him has being much different to Madine talent wise. Course he ain't... BTW how's Proctor going on in League 2?
April 2, 20179 yr I've always been surprised we let Proctor go. I know he's not a world beater but I never saw him has being much different to Madine talent wise. Gary madine is closer to didier drogba than proctor is to madine.
April 2, 20179 yr I've always been surprised we let Proctor go. I know he's not a world beater but I never saw him has being much different to Madine talent wise. It soon became apparent that proctor just ran about a lot to disguise the fact he is shit and not that good at anything other than trying to look busy Madine appears to be a bit more deceptive in trying to look shit but clearly we miss him on days like yesterday
April 2, 20179 yr I've always been surprised we let Proctor go. I know he's not a world beater but I never saw him has being much different to Madine talent wise. Proctor could run the channels, couldn't hold up couldn't control the ball, couldn't head the ball, all which Madine is reasonable at doing. Edited April 2, 20179 yr by Mounts Kipper
April 2, 20179 yr Course he ain't... BTW how's Proctor going on in League 2? He's scored 2 in 3. But that's not really the point. The point is he (like Madine) is a big lump and we play a system which requires a big lump to be at its most successful. That's why I was surprised we let him go (or at least let him go without bringing in another big lump). I only saw JP on a few occasions - but I never saw a huge gulf in class between him and GM.

Proctor liked ball in front of him to use his pace, Madine is good with back to goal 2 completely different styles of player.
April 2, 20179 yr Proctor liked ball in front of him to use his pace, Madine is good with back to goal 2 completely different styles of player. I saw it differently. I always thought JP did OK when he was employed as a target man. I still think he would have been a better option than Long if the plan is to launch balls forward all afternoon.
April 2, 20179 yr Wasn't Proctor loaned out to free a space so we could sign Alf, really can't remember?

I still think he would have been a better option than Long if the plan is to launch balls forward all afternoon. Proctor Couldn't have done much worse than long yesterday he was terrible, he seems better deployed as a sub away from home, stretching the opposition with his pace, from what' I've seen can't see us being interested in Long if we go up.
April 2, 20179 yr Weve blown it now We're 1/20 to go up think you'd better just hold your hands up now it's very very unlikely we will be playing Wigan next season. ???? Edited April 2, 20179 yr by Mounts Kipper

Said pretty much the same thing to a Burnley supporting mate of mine the other day. I've seen very little that would make me think he'd do a job at a higher level. He's had a bit of a stop start time I suppose so I'm reserving judgement.
April 2, 20179 yr Crap performance, players and manager to bllame but we move on to the next one and we actually gained on our nearest rival so there's the positive. I believe we are better set up to play as an away side anyway, so the inept attacking threat was to be expected and Southend will come at us on Tuesday which will be to our advantage
April 2, 20179 yr Id of bought wilkinson on towards the end, maybe instead of claytonUnderstand the theory but in practice Wilkinson has proved to be garbage time and again. We'd have had more joy sticking Wheater up top for the last ten. Edited April 2, 20179 yr by RoadRunnerFan
April 2, 20179 yr Was he the left wing back, if so yes, looked a really decent prospect. They had a couple of others too, including the lad who got sent off at the end He was yes donohue I think Donohue is an Anglesey 'international'. Jon Nolan is an Everton product who began his senior career at Stockport.
April 2, 20179 yr Id of bought wilkinson on towards the end, maybe instead of clayton Clayton only came on in 62nd minute. Not sure if he touched the ball.
