In effect saying our 11 most senior judges are wrong and he’s right. That’s not very far from saying politics is above the law. He has absolutely no place, no qualification and no position to question the judgement.

And it’s a step on a slippery slope, one he’s very much near the bottom of already towards political interference in the judiciary. I note there are already noises about judges becoming political appointments.

In effect 11 privileged unelected Remainer judges have invented a new law to overule the the PM of the present  Government to prevent it carrying out the wishes of 17.4 million voters

Did you read that on Facebook?

You thought he did well? The consensus seems to be he’s completely lost it and his remarks re Jo Cox have pushed into a territory that leaves political commentators shocked. He’s a complete loose cannon. Entirely unfit for office. And tonight has simply confirmed he’s employing right wing populism verging on fascism. Rejecting the court verdict and in effect rejecting law. Can’t be having that is a good performance.

Yes I thought he did well. I didn't see his remarks about Jo Cox though. What did he say?

We’ve had all the dodgy bending of procedures by the remain Parliament and Boris tries a (very) little something and they throw everything at him. At us.

The prorogation was 4 days longer than any other, I think, which doesn’t seem conclusive to a normal person. This is why Boris’s stock continues to rise.

I wouldn't go that far; in fairness we don't know their brexit standing, and the government didn't help itself.

That said a number of university political bods and MPs have highlighted a potential issue of lawmakers effectively directing political matters, which as you say raises an eyebrow with the regard to accountability as they are not elected.

That point was put to Geoffrey Cox, and I was pleased that he suggested that he wasn't in favour of going down the route of electing judges.

He did intimate however, that a new government may seek to create new law to supercede what they created. Or words to that effect.

He uses the nickname “Surrender Act”, which many would feel justified, but not the screechers.

Oh and then said that a screechers response was “humbug”

Shock, horror

“At us”? So, you’re a firm believer that it’s the people Vs the establishment?

Not necessarily, but I am of the view that it is the people v Parliament

Cox highlighted several occasions of long prorogation events. One of around 3 months iirc..

To be honest though, what's done is done. Time to move on and get this sorted.

Revisit the law in the next session.

Firstly in response to a Labour MP asking him to moderate his language given the number of MPs being threatened by the public and in light of Jo Cox’s murder he said that was a load of ‘humbug’.

He then later said the best way to honour Jo Cox was to deliver Brexit. I mean even the most hardened politics commentators jaws dropped at that.

I see Labour’s Shadow Brexit secretary has resigned.

For family reasons, of course.

He walked into that one then!

He has said the verdict was wrong. How on earth can a PM say that the highest court in the land is wrong? You cannot surely defend that?

3 of the highest judges in the land also said they was wrong. Are you saying that they don't know what they are talking about ?

He hasn’t rejected the law nor the verdict.

Its like you have your own little dreamworld

He’s obviously reading some utter bollocks Labour website, rather than listening and making up his own mind.

You want to have elections to the Supreme Court now? 😂

How do you know they voted remain?

It’s not even as though the body called “Supreme Court” has been around forever.

Not even 10 years. Probably invented by New Labour or summat

He made a prick of himself there.
