Only those who "choose not to see" (ironically the self-appointed visionaries) are still claiming that "they need us more than we need them" and that any difficulties are firmly at the door of the EU. It's amazing that people are surprised that we're treated as a 3rd country, when that is 100% what we voted for ...and still they remoan. Will be interesting if Italy makes the next move. Looking forward to the furore if this comes to pass. Quote

Farrelli Posted October 11, 2022 Posted October 11, 2022 An Independent Scotland may move closer to reality following this court hearing. Another brexit bonus will be the break up of the UK. Quote

That won't happen - in the same way that when we chose to leave, the likes of Farage inferred that others would follow quite quickly The Italians need the EU far more than the EU needs them, and they know it. They'd sink without trace if they left. We're struggling, and our economy is much stronger than theirs is. No chance they choose to leave for a long, long time yet, unless they're really fucking stupid and haven't see what's unfolded/unfolding here Quote
Ani Posted October 11, 2022 Posted October 11, 2022 https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/live/uk-63212398 Great news for the economy is that unemployment is down, rest bit less good but hey Ho. Only 3 weeks till the numbers are produced. Without saying 'at least they are not Labour' can anyone explain what this lot are doing well ? Are we still blaming it all on Putin ? Quote

Maybe this is what Sturgeon is looking for because she’d rather the EU be propping up her potentially failing economy than having to rely on Westminster. Quote

Only so many times the EU going to bail out countries… she can’t even join the EU as they don’t meet the entry criteria… and don’t get me started on an Independence Party gaining independence then giving it away…. That’s if ever they meet entry criteria. My view is if any country wants independence, votes for it in sufficient numbers then good luck to them. Quote

Spurious bollocks as usual from him. Their mps and activists don't seem confident of victory at the supreme Court. So they've already announced they’ll ignore the ruling and take the next general election as a referendum. As it happens, I'm quite sure they'll lose the size of their majority and labour will make some inroads into Scotland. Which may well help Starmer get a majority then. Quote

ErnestTurnip Posted October 11, 2022 Posted October 11, 2022 Nine million people aged 16-64 are economically inactive apparently with more than twice as many not working because of health reasons than due to unemployment. Or so the ONS says. Quote
